Well the 2k individual seasons are all $10 black friday.
So if the complete set isnt less than $80 then the ind sets are actually cheaper.

My relatively uninformed opinion follows. First time with any GoT on 4K and it's been good so far.

I started watching the first season this evening and I'm very much liking what I'm seeing. I haven't rewatched this season for about 6 years, when I would have watched the Blu on a 1080p screen that was a lot smaller than what I have now. Given all that, and the fact that the GoT Blus I had looked great, I'm really not sure how much of an improvement this is over the Blu but regardless at face value this feels like a good presentation of the worst looking series. Detail levels are often astonishing and I'd be surprised if the Blu entirely matched what I'm seeing here. Really though, it's the sense of depth that has wowed me even more. From the opening sequence I was thinking "I remember the Blus looked good but this already feels like it must be better by a decent margin". A couple of darker scenes suffer from a bit of crush (though I fear that may be my TV) and a bit of noise but if things maintain the overall standard I'll be happy enough. For reference the issues with darker scenes were mainly apparent in episode 1 (I've watched 3 eps so far).

So overall a good start. Things should hopefully get even better as the source improves.

I'm likely to be easily pleased by what I get out of this boxset overall. The second half of the show I've only ever seen on a 720p catch up service so I should definitely be getting a better experience than I'm used to for most of the show.

Also, how great it is to revisit this series. I was worried that, after the ending disappointed me, I'd find no joy in revisiting the earlier seasons. I may end up getting more frustrated as I go on but I easily slipped into a binge session this evening, having only planned to watch the first episode. It's still great TV.

I received my set from Best Buy Canada yesterday and can confirm there's no digital copy nor any mention of it on the boxset slipcover.

Games of Throne arrived the case and packaging looks amazing . HBO out did themselves with the steelbook ,but the opening title is already having issues on my Oppo 205 and my Panasonic UB420 , it just keep pixelating ,then freezes and then pixelates and plays and repeats this process over and over till I skip and go into the first chapter .
Any one else having issues?

Yeah I do cause hive had the set preordered since it went live and it’s been getting ready to ship since Friday and all of a sudden they delayed it. So I canceled and ordered it again for pick up and now they’ve taken double of my money out. Even though I canceled the first order.
