Yeah, I was disappointed too, which is why I kept on passing on it. I got tired of aiting for a better release and just received the non-English-friendly German blu-ray of the Italian cut, but I would really love for someone some day to release the full version with the English soundtrack.

(If someone has a link to a list of Kino OOPs, I am still interested, though. I need to see what I have missed so far in the WSL sale. I know I missed out on Planet of the Vampires, but since it is Mario Bava I think there is still hope someone might do a definitive release one day with both the US and Italian cuts).

Gotta love the SLITHIS. If for nothing else, it must be seen to witness the performance by the police chief. Even if he were intentionally trying to act campy bad he's not even able to manage that. The guy really defies any rationale, his "acting" or whatever you call it just go against any description or definition out there.

Funny, this was exactly what I thought about when I saw the re-release announcement. The rest of the cast is pretty subdued, and here comes the police chief who acts like he's on stage doing Shakespeare, playing to the back seats. He was so over the top I loved it and have shown Slithis to people just for him

I was pretty disappointed when I saw him in Hack-O-Lantern and he actually calmed down quite a bit. But that guy was a character.

Thanks for looking that up. I see by the date that the Kino post referred to the first Universal deal. But since that post, several people have shown interest, so maybe they did ask for it in the new deal, or the third. I am hoping anyway. I would be surprised if any company continued to not want a Rodgers and Hammerstein property, especially one that is so good.

I'm doing great !!! For those who aren't aware, Target started their B2G1 free sale today (it wasn't supposed to start until then 8th) I ordered High Plains Drifter, 2 Mules for Sister Sara and The Day the Earth Caught Fire. I might go back later for Killdozer and a few others. I received Seven Sinners today as well Mike, so, hey, we have something in common. They say film unifies us. I absolutely believe it....

I agree with you. I am always surprised when Kino states that they are not interested in a title, given the very wide range of films they DO release. Then again, I am grateful for the obscure films they do deem to be worthy.
