I bought mine for $399.99 last year. It might go down.

Blu-ray Count

Happening for months now.
Has anyone had issues here and there where if you rewind I part and resume the audio doesn't work? You have to go to the disc main menu to get it to work again. Or, if you put a disc in and it asks you if you want to continue where you left off, you press yes and audio doesn't play? Again, you have to go to the main menu on the disc to get it to work. |

That said, since I updated to that latest firmware manually, it hasn't happened once. |

But does anyone know if you have to pay to get it? Anyone who has installed it has had problems in the player, does the external subtitles function work well? Thanks!! ![]() |

As far as I know you do have to pay for it. And for any future vfirmware updates you will have to pay for it again. I do not have it so therefore I cannot comment on the performance.

Guys, just a quick question.
The Luminance Adjustment function where contrast and brightness are, is only available for SDR content, right? It says that when I try to get access to it and playing some HDR content. |

I would get that either way. I've always liked the Geek Squad plans. Majority of the time they just treat it as a return and give you store credit for the original purchase price. I've always purchased the plans and have never had something "sent away for repair". Even on expensive TVs.

Seems doubtful. Not many left in stock.

Could any kind folks give me some settings guidance for HDR10?
Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon arrived today. As expected, on the 820, this disc flickers in Dolby Vision - not sure why, but it has happened for others too. So anyway, I turned off DV and it plays fine, but the black level is totally different in HDR10 - I'm not sure if this is how the disc is mastered, or if it is a settings issue. My TV is a Panasonic 55GZ1000. For DV, it is set to DV Dark mode. For HDR10, it is set to Professional 2. The 820 is set up with the screen choice as OLED, and I am watching it in standard mode on the HDR optimiser. Is there anything else I could look at with regards to the risen blacks? In HDR10, the black bars are very visible, and all the bright lights at night stuff is a lot less pretty as the dark bits are not as dark as they should be... If anyone else has this disc, it would be good to know if they notice the same thing in HDR10, too. TIA Last edited by J Nada; 11-18-2020 at 09:49 AM. |

My recommendation would be for you to confirm if this happens only with this movie or has it happened with any other? Also, I'm assuming the picture modes you are using for HDR10 comparison are preset and in the TV's most accurate OOTB mode. |
