Bose is a propriatary configured system offering for their home theater packages and the majority of audio and videophiles prefer a modular approach, purchasing 'exactly' the devices they want, without 'having' to by bose pieces. They just seem to love pseudo, virtual created sound. In my opinion they just offer smoke and mirrors solutions. I'm glad you like what you have. [Jim]

I understand being defensive when people jump all over you for buying Bose. However you should get annoyed and/or pissed at Bose, not the people in the forums. Would you rather everyone lie to you?

Default I don't have high-end taste, but...

I love my Bose AM10's.

Now, I certainly don't have a high-end a/v setup; but, judging by the way some of you guys get all "giddy schoolgirl" over this stuff, and the way that you list your gear like it was some kind of an a resume, I'd guess there's one thing I have that most of you don't...women!

I'm serious; getting all excited about your a/v setup is psychologically very similar to driving a Porsche; you're compensative for something.....and no amount of high-end gear is gonna help you out there!

As a mental health professional, I can tell you right now that the ones who react the most vehemently to this post are the ones whose nerves I've touched the most!

In short, I'd much rather listen to a set of AM10's with a hot woman, than the very highest-end s**t with a bunch of Battlestar Galactica collectibles.

i would bet that the majority of people you think your refering to are actually married.

I drive a fast car, as does my wife, who also agrees that your Bose speakers are garbage. If you're just not into that kind of thing and don't get it, that's cool, but your "professional" opinions of everyone else just make you look like a tool. Like most shrinks I've met. See, I can do it too

Does this cause you some personal grief that there might be another BOSE thread in the universe? Are you the official thread NAZI?

Sweet reply to a post that's more than a year old where you have no frame of reference.

If you must know, this thread was created by the OP as he was discussing the same topic at the same time in another thread. Hence, it was pretty unnecessary to start a brand new one.

Hmmm, he does have a good point though..however:

He'd rather listen to a set of AM10s with a hot woman, while we'd rather sleep with a hot woman WHILE listening to our high end speakers with a little sweet something on..

I'd sure hate to be your patient, but then again, you could only be a social worker working your sh!t 9:00 to 5:00 hour shift, 40+ hours a week, M-F at some run down mental institute for druggies and alcoholics anonymous and not be a doctor after all.. Then again we don't know that, as much as you don't know much about us. Maybe we're married, and maybe some of us might actually have a couple of girlfriends and what not..but you wouldn't know that. I feel sorry for people like you that live crappy lives and who must put other people down they don't know on forum boards for the pathetic benefit of making themselves feel superior and better about themselves in the end. You're also the suckers who buy the 'superior' BOSE products to shine your label of 'wealth' and 'class'. Honestly, just because someone might actually have better equipment than you that cost less than your BOSE product doesn't mean that you have to lash back out at them with comments like that. For all we know, you're the one with the shrink who lives the depressing life alone with out the ladies. Food for thought buddy..It's your own insecurities that people will see in your post..

Excuse me - I took the liberty of editing your post - lets keep it clean here. On your subject - I have a nice system and a beautiful wife of 22 years. I love wife and like my system. It is possible to have nice gear and to be in a real relationship also

Bose would be alright if it was marketed and priced for what it actually is: an entry level HT system. However, thanks to some top-notch marketing, they have managed to pass themselves off as producing high-end products, at high-end prices, which they most definitely are not.

Perhaps someone slated for a short time here.

Judging by your language, and juvenile rub-it-in-your-face attitude, I find it difficult to believe your claim of being a mental health professional.

Bose does not deliver what they promise. I would even go as far as calling their ads false advertising.

m-kay. Thank you for bumping an old thread, that hasn't been posted in for over a year to let us know your feelings.

I will refrain from speculating why an owner of Bose products reacts so defensively.

Wow, some heat in the discussion. First time I've seen that in the forum. Everyone has hobbies. My d@#n neighbor likes to drive his loud gas-powered RC car up and down the street.

I've been a movie buff all my life, but just recently caught the bug to work on my HT. I rely on this forum because I've upgraded a few times in the past few months and this forum has always provided spot-on advice.

If you like your Bose speakers, great. Falling back on the "trekkie-nerd gets no girls" cliche is a bit old.
