Not a bad costume. Fot those who remember the series, Robin Of Sherwood, he remind's me of Ray Winstone as Will Scarlett, costume very similar.

Cannot wait to see this movie.

I can't wait to see this.

I liked Costner's outfit more. Crowe looks like a fairy without wings to me.

It'll be interesting...The outfit fits but I dunno if how he will play out as Robin Hood. I trust Ridley Scott to do a fine job with this movie so I will see the movie for sure but I don't see armor or anything that new with this outfit...

Agreed. Probably my most anticipated movie. I just love Ridley Scott epics especially when you add Crowe.

At least Crowe can muster up a British accent, I imagine - should be worth checking out!

While my first reaction upon seeing the pic did lend itself towards gladiator, I do feel a bit better after seeing this. Crowe is back in shape, from this one little pic, the costume seems alright, now I feel a little more in my comfort zone.

I'll still be looking forward to a trailer or some footage though before I make up my mind. While I appreciate the Scott/Crowe combo, I'm not blindly sold on it. All in all though, I'm sure that the pic will accomplish it's purpose with gusto.

Should have been Robin Williams with a followup to Hook called HOOD.

Just to point out a common fanboy hitch, we're all assuming that photo is how Crowe will look the entirity of that movie. It could be, it may not be though, it almost strikes me as a pre-Robin Hood or a out-hunting shot. Like the Gibson deer hunting in Braveheart, ya know?

Anyways, if all we got is the photo then ya gotta withhold those final judgements.

I like Costner's 1980's hair style. What a hoot.

Hey dude, Morgan Freeman was awesome in that movie.

Russel Crowe has better hair in State of Play for Robin Hood than he does for the actual Robin Hood movie.

It will take an incredible trailer for me to see this since I consider Prince of Thieves and Men in Tights to be the last two necessary Robin Hood movies. Crowe is pulling off the look in that costume though.

I agree with you, again. Let's not make this a trend!

Seriously though, Morgan Freeman was awesome. But that movie was pretty bad. Remember the dual-arrow bit, or when they jumped on a catapult to go over the wall? Yeesh.

I'm kind of surprised to see Crowe with short hair for this, since from State of Play he already had long locks. Pulled it off pretty well in Master and Commander too.

However Crowe + Scott = I'm there. Even just Ridley Scott doing a new picture is enough for me to take note. Here's the rest of the cast:

Quote:
The main cast has already been announced: Russell Crowe as Robin Hood, Cate Blanchett as Lady Marion, Vanessa Redgrave as Queen Eleanor, Mark Strong as Sir Godfrey, Oscar Issac as King John, Léa Seydoux as French Princess Isabella, William Hurt as Earl of Pembroke, William Marshall and the Merry Men: Scott Grimes as Will Scarlet, Kevin Durand as Little John, Alan Doyle as Allan Adayle.

I prefer Costner's style.. but I'm sure Crowe will do really good in this movie. I'm glad Crowe is back to this type of role...

Well, that explains it. When I saw Crowe on Letterman, I wondered, "Wait, is he doing a sequel to Gladiator?"

Next best thing...

Seriously, it's been almost 20 years since that POS, PoT. Time for another take on the character.
