So the French BD has some burnt in subtitles and the songs by Camille is in French regardless of English/French audio being selected.
Can anyone who owns the Hong Kong release confirm whether the songs are sung in French or English? Also I’m curious if there are any animation differences between the versions. On Netflix all the signs are in English but small text like the calendar or the pages of the book are rendered in French. On the French BD is all in-world text in French or English? |

It's very common for CGI animation blurays to have branching playback where they have separate chapter files for sections with in world text so they can replace it with a render with different localisations. This is increasingly common and utilised more and more. If the Netflix version has English for some stuff but French for the rest that would suggest to me that in world text is all French by default but with some stuff animated in English when it is very relevant to the plot. Does the French BD have French text for the English in world text parts seen during the Netflix version? As for your actual question, I have the DDDhouse version, but I'm too lazy to dig out the box to check right now. I was planning to watch it soon, so if I remember I'll report back! Also, for anyone who is interested it is on sale at $13.67 right now at dddhouse. This is a must own 3D bluray IMO. |
