I like Last Blood more now that I've seen the Extended Cut via the German 4K disc.
The added prologue and follow-up scenes, while uncomplicated in their intent, do add to the overall story and come full-circle to Rambo's character later. It's a more rounded version of the film that should have been released in the first place. |

These extended cuts are all news to me. I just watched my 4K theatrical disc, kind of sucks to know I’ll have to rebuy anthother (hopefully 4k) extended disc. Excited to see the extra material though I’m not interested in streaming.

Indeed, I've viewed that scene elsewhere separately and I presume it replaces another conversation as seen in the German 4K disc. If that's the case, I prefer the original Extended Cut scene personally.

THIS, absolutely. First Blood is a brilliant, unsurpassed classic. Rambo 4 is a phenomenal action film and the most brutal in the series, taking it right up near the top. Part 2 has some of the classic vibe that made First Blood so great. Rambo 5 is a solid action/revenge film in its own right and reveals a somewhat credible evolution of the character. All of the Rambo films have always been about revenge, directed at one group or another, anyway. And Rambo 3 is just enough overly cheesed up that it lags behind the other sequels in terms of content and quality, earning it last place, but the first half still dishes out enough classic Rambo vibe to make it worth owning, before deteriorating into over-the-top hollywood silliness. Still, even in last place, it's a classic Rambo that has to be in the collection.
And while we're at it, Rambo 1 and 2 on 4k UHD are $7.99 right now on pre-Black Friday blowout, once again. I just grabbed second copies for my collection. That's cheaper than a couple of boxes of surplus ak-47 ammo, and lasts a lot longer, too. Last edited by DaylightsEnd; 11-22-2020 at 03:38 PM. |

Is the 3rd cut of Rambo 5 exclusively available on 4K UHD? That's the only cut I've not yet seen.

The conversation on the German 4K disc is actually how it plays out in the US theatrical cut.

Does anyone know if the UK UHD disc of Rambo III is fully uncut (thinking about the horse falls)?
Are there any differences between the US and UK discs of any of the Rambo films encode-wise? Sorry if that's been asked and answered already (likely...). Thanks in advance! |

I got the Nordic version from rarewaves and confirmed that it's uncut and has English subtitles for the translation parts. |
