Are you saying I'm not supposed to pick up my player every time I insert a disc?

Everytime I press the power or eject button on the machine itself, it makes a creaking noise.

Just ordered the UB900 remote. Where can I find the codes to program it to the 820 player? Thanks

With the sale prices, I've seen a lot of buzz about these players. Made an impulse buy and purchased the UB820. $350 is still rather pricey for a player to me, but I'm already seeing some improvements over my Sony UBP-X700. Notably, the HDR optimizer offers a solution to the really dark/dim picture I've seen on a handful of HDR titles (notably the German 4K release of Suspiria 2018 and The Empire Strikes Back) displayed on the LG C9.

I am so tempted, I actually ordered twice only to cancel. I understand this is a better player than the Sony ubp-x800m2 in most opinions, but what keeps me from pulling the trigger is the common problem that this player freezes on certain disc (Lionsgate specifically). Is this a universal issue. My current Sony ubp-x800m2 has no problems playing these discs.

That's very odd. My 820 doesn't do that. Sure it makes the disc tray opening noise, but that's it. To me, I would be more worried about noise when the a disc is playing. The player itself is rather quiet and I like that a lot!!

I have two questions that are really important to me, so I would appreciate if you could answer them. Bought a UB820 recently for the dimmable subtitles, and here goes:
1. I have a Q85 75" Samsung that is supposed to have strong HDR capabilites, should I use the HDR optimizer on the 820 (and what settings)? A follow up question is what kind of nit type the Samsung falls under when choosing the screen setting on the UB820? 2. I have a JBL 5.1 soundbar (with detachable sourround speakers), on my Pioneer BD player DTS-HD mono 1.0 soundtracks are played back fine when leaving the sourround speakers attached to the soundbar (which means that all elements play the 1.0 signal?). With the Panasonic player, 1.0 soundtracks are terribly distorted and I have to detach the sourround speakers for the distortion to go away. I don't really hear any sound coming from the surround speakers so I guess that the playback still is 1.0, but it bugs me that I don't get to use all the speaker elements for the sound outpout (as I would have if the surround speakers were attached to the soundbar). Thanks in advance! |

Is there anyone who has the DP-UB820K version, and has installed the Enhanced Firmware" from regionfreedom.com ? Does the external subtitles function work well? Thanks!! ![]() |
