That's correct. John Cusack did train under 'The Jet'.

He actually talks about it a bit on Marc Maron’s podcast - http://www.wtfpod.com/podcast/episode-1163-john-cusack

He says that the macho cast members of Con Air saw Cusack as the toughest person on set! He then talks about his training with Benny the Jet.

Two options: it could be either New Police Story (2004) or Police Story 2013, so I am confused as well.

Well, this is why I asked because JC plays different characters in both of those films and neither of them are Ka Kui from PS1, PS2, Supercop & First Strike.

I would try to guess again - most likely is the movie with Michelle Yeoh, Project S or Supercop 2, where Jackie has a cameo in it for about 5 minutes. Although the official title for First Strike is Police Story 4: First Strike.

First Strike in it's US version removes most of what makes it a Police Story entry annoyingly, and it's the only version available on BD.

Agreed. There is:

Police Story
Police Story 2
Police Story 3: Supercop
Police Story 4: First Strike.

AFAIAC, there isn't a 5.

Anyway, we are getting a bit OT here.

Police Story Lockdown seemed to totally fly under the radar.

I only really think of the first two Police Story films as “Police Story.” Supercop and First Strike feel like something else entirely (and were - 80s Hong Kong-set films versus the international minded 90s films.) Jackie Chan’s character in Rumble in the Bronx seems more like an extension of his Police Story character than the actual Police Story 3 and 4.

Police Story Lockdown definitely shouldn’t have that title. Not the worst recent Chan film (Chinese Zodiac, Kung Fu Yoga) but it feels worlds away from those 80s films.

I have seen, and own the DVD of, NPS. I didn't think it that bad but didn't consider it a sequel to the previous films.

It is also available on Netflix (at least in Australia it is).

I have never watched Lockdown and I don't think I will either.

I've never seen it, I'm terribly behind on Jackie's films. The most recent one I've seen is SHAOLIN!

At least canonically speaking, Supercop and First Strike are technically Police Story 3 and 4, with the trio of Ka Kui, Uncle Bill/Biu, and May in Supercop, and Ka Kui and Biu in First Strike... even though he's primarily called Jackie in the bulk of the latter film, he is referred to at least once as Ka Kui in the Cantonese audio. New Police Story and Police Story 2013/Lockdown are definitely stand alone "non Ka-Kui" films. Hell, to further add confusion, Crime Story was called "New Police Story" in Japan, LOL. And let's not forget that Project S/Supercop 2 (damn Dimension/Miramax...) is also in the same canon as the main Police Story films, down to having a Ka Kui cameo
