Not really. Unless your version becomes obsolete and no longer updated, there's no reason to upgrade, until you get a new PC and GPU. PowerDVD is now a MEDIA PLAYER, first and foremost, which means you only get the full value if you use it as such and that means new GPU hardware every so often, to use the newer video codecs, which also means you should only upgrade if you use it in such a way. If you just use it for disc playback and use your own choice of third-party media player like VLC or whatever, you have no reason to upgrade regularly.
