Watching movies always makes me feel better.

By the end of the year I'll be at over 200 discs purchased. I still can't believe it. But it's been a great year for catalog releases. Between the Kino, Criterion, Shout and Warner Archive sales throughout the year I just couldn't pass up the deals. I would say I purchased 97% of them on sale.

I'm on a big film noir kick at the moment so I've been trying to grow my collection of those. Which led to me discovering some directors and actors which were unfamiliar to me. So now I'm seeking out more of their titles. It all just snowballs. But what a great time to be a collector!
200 is a helluva year. I just passed 100 with LOTR showing up today and Blade Steelbook waiting for me to pick it up.

We have really enjoyed the action ladies with great sound tracks in:

Anna - Sasha Luss
Atomic Blonde - Charlize Theron
Ghost In The Shell - Scarlett Johansson
Lucy - Scarlett Johansson
Mad Max: Fury Road - Charlize Theron
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation - Rebecca Ferguson
Red Sparrow - Jennifer Lawrence
Sicario - Emily Blunt
Underworld's - Kate Beckinsale

Some do not include immersive audio tracks but still sound quite good with Dolby Upmixer or DTS Neural X engaged.

I have all of those on 4K disc except Red Sparrow and Underworld. I was actually holding out hope for the extended edition of Underworld on 4K disc. I've yet to watch Red Sparrow at all.

Good day. LOTR 4k steelbooks. and Blade and Coming to America 4K on digital.

I have 3 more physical pre-orders in the next 2 weeks and Django Arrow 4k for next year. I've saved room for the WKW criterion set and Gattaca 4K, but after that i may have to be digital only unless Nolan Tarantino or Villeneuve

Funny enough, I was slightly bummed that there was nothing I needed to get on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Then I realized I bought like 20 titles not even 2 weeks ago. I also have LOTR and The Hobbit trilogies coming in tomorrow.

Have Underworld on BD and UHD BD. The music track has been changed some on the UHD BD version and I prefer the track on the BD version. One of the things I like about physical, once I have it no one can change it.

Three of my all time most desired titles have hit this year and to think I was worried about filling my yearly wish list back in Feb/March. It’s crazy!

It's a damn good film -- very multilayered. I'd rank it a 4 out of 5 so far. Brandon Cronenberg definitely has a bright future ahead of him. I can also see how this film got censored. The restored footage is gory and brutal as hell!

Possessor UNCUT, indeed.

I have the first three Underworld films on BD, including the EE of the first one. I did not know that they had changed the music.

Next up for me will be The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone on BD and Total Recall 30th Anniversary on UHD BD. Soon, most likely will procure Game of Thrones box set on UHD BD and Boardwalk Empire box set on BD. Haven’t decided on Lord of the Rings set just yet. Added quite a few disc in this pandemic year.

I have been busy with other projects and I am about to be even busier.

I decided to buy a new AVR, namely the Marantz SR7013. It arrives Friday and I have a 339 page online manual to read! I am so over listening to movies with my TV's speakers, so when I saw this AVR was both on sale and in stock I had to pounce on it.

The money that I would have spent on separates can now be used for phase two of my project: buying one, or maybe even two, subwoofies. Phase three will be to buy a pair of speakers for height channels. After that, who knows? I may do other upgrades. There are many possible speaker configurations to consider.

I even managed to have enough money left to order some discs, too, including the Dawn Of The Dead 1978 4K import limited edition. It set me back $148.62 with shipping, but it is easily worth it to me.

I also have the Lord Of The Rings 4K edition and The Hobbit Trilogy 4K edition coming along with a couple more titles. I can't think of a better set of movies to debut with my new AVR.

Setting this up will be one time consuming endeavor, but I haz that in abundance.

Good deal.

So sad the market place has so little AVR stock from any vendor these days.

Did not see your PM till this morning, will try to answer soon. As to the manual, can you not download the PDF? If you have a tablet then add the Marantz app to it and see how you like it.

Yes, I downloaded the manual and I plan to spend some time reading it today. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but it is fun work so the time will fly by.

My limited edition of Dawn Of The Dead 1978 4K arrived today just two days after I ordered it from the U.K to my home in Illinois. It was also packed well enough to survive Armageddon.

Contrast that with domestic Amazon Prime; it is estimated to take 6 days to receive my most recent orders. Odds are high that something will arrive damaged, too, as Amazon tosses almost everything into those worthless padded envelopes. If I ordered a glass vase from them they would ship that in an envelope, too.
