Burn in is never exaggerated for those that have experienced burn-in. Anyway, I started posting my doom and gloom predictions in another thread that's more relevant to that topic since you complained about me going off topic and not discussing the LX500 in this thread. Now you want bring up my posting history and critique of OLED. It seems you're the one that's off topic.

Obviously, burn-in sucks for whomever experiences it , but that does not change the fact that it is a very rare occurrence. You grossly exaggerated the frequency with which it occurs. You actively tried, and failed, to scare people away from OLED TVs.

Your posting history demonstrates your persistent negative attitude towards almost every topic that you comment upon. Your OLED TV were just an early symptom of your behavior that now manifest across any topic that you visit including this thread.

This thread is about the Pioneer LX 500. You came here to basically tell everyone that there is no need for any 4K disc player because discs are doomed. I mentioned your post history to illustrate that this is what you have always done: you find fault with and predict the failure of pretty much everything.

You accuse OLEDs of being "too dim" and you make QLED (an inferior technology marketed as the best thing out there by its manufacturers) look better than OLED. You will find OLED displays being used in professional movie studios throughout the world. But you won't find QLED displays being used in any movie studios. This means that OLED is the true reference standard for displays.

You also have the player that only a person who uses discs very often would buy, yet you say that disc is on its way out and streaming, which is actually the inferior format, will take over.

Just for the record, studio reference OLED monitors are not the same consumer OLEDs. The studio reference monitors used true RGB panels. BTW, I don't believe the studio still use OLEDs as reference monitors.

Yes, I purchased an LX-500 because my previous blu ray player stopped working, and I still have lots of my favorite movies on Blu Ray from the previous era. Just because I own a blu ray player doesn't mean I can deny the truth unfolding before my very own eyes.

OLED displays were created to bring reference-quality picture to the home. I’m told OLED used to be a company. They have a set of standards that every OLED display must meet.

So you don’t have any Ultra HD Blu-ray discs?!

You do not need to "deny" what you think is the truth, but you also do not need to remind us of your opinion everyday, either.

That's all the grief that I will give you for awhile as I am taken ill. I sure hope that discs are still here when I recover.

I have about 15 disc UHD discs. I have some old DVD-A and SA-CD discs that I play on my lX500 from time to time.

I have seen players get updates as long as six years after their release.

Pioneer just started selling Certified Refurbished equipment on their site. There may just be a new player from them after all. They still have the “Blu-ray Disc” section on the site as I described in an earlier post.

UPDATE: It looks like Pioneer has all but, albeit quietly, exited the disc player market. I have owned the Panasonic for a while now, and if you do want a machine with all these features there is the MAGNETAR.

I don't see any refurbished UHD players:

Did you see some earlier? Or am I looking in the wrong page/dept?
