Bad for everyone. Makes the FUNi monopoly stronger, we get bad releases, you’ll have to sub to FUNi Now to get anything, which, I’ll remind you, isn’t available in a ton of countries.

What a disaster. Nobody wins. Everyone looses. QC will go downhill.

The real losers are anyone outside North America- you are screwed. BIG TIME.

This might also mean the end of Sentai as their deal with Crunchyroll is basically done before it started. Sad times.

So, the translators under MX Media (owned by Crunchyroll) are going to see their pay increase from $80 an episode to something more livable, right, RIGHT?! Oh wait, Crunchyroll can't even be bothered to credit them unless there's a Blu-ray release. Also, expect layoffs in certain areas as that's what happens with this sort of consolidation. I'm definitely not happy about this, if only this country enforced antitrust.

Also I hope nothing happens with the Crunchyroll video player because **** this nonsense. Who needs sign subs and proper subtitling, right? Oh, and FUNimation updated their video player recently to make the settings menu more clunky, and they removed the back/forward shortcut button (which was shift+left/right-yes, you NEEDED to press shift first). I've had to make use of this userscript I found on Google to get back the back/forward shortcut button.

I say Sentai Filmworks needs our support more than ever, pre-order their releases, don't just wait for the sales when they'll make way, way less.

It would be nice if Funi had CR's custom sub format and captioning overlays (though they lag on mobile sometimes for me)

Funi video and audio quality is a bit higher though even if their site sucks lol

Funimation/Sony becoming a monopoly isn't good for anyone, except their shareholders. Plus their streaming website runs like garbage. 2020 keeps getting worse.

If you can't beat em buy em. Ugh, though to be honest Crunchyroll has been going downhill for a while now, their news and forums are clogged with spam, their player sucks and has been freezing a LOT (not to mention on days with popular shows it can't handle the heavy traffic) their "originals" are awful and have come at the expense of them licensing less "real" anime. They only have one new good show this season Jujustu Kaisen, not to mention how long (if ever) it took for their stuff to come out on Blu-ray.
I guess it was inevitable people want everything cheap and fast and that's what Funimation does. This should be the end of Sentai/HiDive, don't see how they survive, except as a tiny also ran endlessly redoing their old licenses like Media Blasters. Could be worse I guess, could have been Amazon or Netflix.

Pretty sure the reason they license less anime is cause they can't match Funimation so they had to go the originals route. They were working with Sentai on distribution so series could start coming again. Their player is still way better than Funimations.

Funimation website never works for me. Yeah, Crunchyroll isn't that great either. They still can't be bothered to update basic things like keeping fullscreen on, during transition to the next episode.

Probably sold out and may be getting reissue without the shikishi. My guess.
