I think its one of the few appropriate times in order to lie. Its just one way of fighting movie piracy.

+Infinity. Regardless if the guy lied or not, nothing can save this cesspool of a movie. It's Daredevil and Elektra bad.

I think a more effective way would be to be honest and use guilt to try to motivate people who downloaded who were now planning on not going to the theatre. All movies are pirated on the internet eventually, and all comic book movies have to deal with fanboys being pissed off. The only difference here is that this one hit long before official release and fanboys are especially mad because of massive bungling of a character many on the Internet consider to be amazing in the source material.

Or maybe I just feel the way I do because I'm against flat lies all around. I can't stand such bold-faced lies, and I can't stand people who think it is ok to lie like that, regardless of the reason.

And it's not "fighting piracy". You cannot fight it. You can try to prevent it for as long as possible, you can try to damage control it once it happens, but you cannot fight it.

I disagree. I'd say it's only about 15~20 minutes too long. Could've been a strong story if they had maintained focus better and held to basic rules of storytelling. However, at the same time, they easily could've told a 2 hour story well if the folks who came up with the story knew what they were doing.

How about if we agree that there isn't any way to convince someone to see this movie if they already viewed it illegally?

Huh?

Plenty of people who saw it illegally are still planning on seeing it in the theatre. Even some people who were less than satisfied with the workprint will be seeing it in the theatre regardless, especially with the amazing deals Best Buy put out for e-cash. Why do so many of you people not understand the idea that there are people in this world who are willing to pay money for the things they've illegally downloaded? Just because a person downloads a movie doesn't mean they won't pay to see it in the theatre or grab it on home video, just because a person downloads a mp3 doesn't mean they won't buy the CD. Don't automatically assume the worst in people.

Actually, the director's cut of Daredevil holds up rather well apparently although I can't say for certain I've ever seen the theatrical cut. Can't speak for Elektra, but Daredevil catches more shit than it deserves.

If you're going to compare it to other films, I think the likes of X-men Last Stand, Spider-man 3, and Superman Returns are this one's peers. If only for the action I can say with confidence that this one will stand the test of time better than Elektra.

Maybe that's how they should get the illegal downloaders in the theatres. Don't even try to make it seem like the movie is better in the theatres, but accentuate how much more engrossing the action will be:

"You haven't really seen this movie until you've seen the fully completed special effects in the film. You will be absolutely floored by how great this stuff looks instead of bored to tears by ugly polygons and incomplete messes."

They need to bring back David Hayter to write the scripts for anything future in the X-men series I mean those were the only good movies, the ones he was attached to.

There is also the very likely possibility that he's got no wish to write X-Men stories now? Writers like everyone else get tired of things and want to move on to new things, try something different.

I didn't expect anything to change, they would have had to completely thrown out the script to savage this movie.
