They most definitely do ship internationally. The Limited Edition works out slightly cheaper at up1.co.uk btw, but personally not a big fan of them (can't remove credit card info without deleting entire account, at least on their USA website up1usa.com).

There's a high probability that some cuts might be waived while others remain.

Just had a lovely chat with the boss of UP1. Really nice guy. Wicked City for £21.99 and no postage, since I live near the address on their website.

He said Manga look like they're delaying until around the 14th.

Thanks for the answer. I'm afraid that means I'll have to skip it for fear that it won't reach me before the 1st of January when I'll have to start paying import taxes on items from the UK

Limited and Standard are in stock now at UP1 (and so is Akira 4K).

Thanks for the heads-up! I think I'll take the chance and order it.

Mini-update. I don't own this release yet as I'm awaiting the QC and reviews first, but I noticed Dynit's logo is on the info sheet of the set which is interesting.

Dybex logo, not Dynit (you can tell by the triangles on the left and right).

Dybex

Dynit

Dybex and Manga have worked together before on acquiring the home video rights to BLAME.

If Manga used encodes from Dybex made by Avmedia Barcelona, I'll probably go for Discotek instead, unless AVmedia fixed the issue with how they handle chroma.

Right I spoke to another person who owns the set. Unfortunately Wicked City only has 1 of the 2 English dubs with the UK release. I asked if this was the sweary dub i.e the Manga UK one but he doesn't seem convinced.

Either way, buyers beware.

This is annoying because when I first found out this was coming to the UK I was super excited especially when an LE was mentioned. I remember asking if this was using the Discotek discs they said yes but ended up being no. I figured oh well that's not completely bad given how Broly was handled, but you would think the rest would be the same like the two dubs. So my apologises if I gave out any misinformation earlier in the year.

New Update: Artbook included in the LE is Wicked City focused apparently.

Having said that, I got an email last night saying they had my order! I collected it this morning. It's a beautiful set.

My standard edition set arrived yesterday, if you know of a scene where it would be obvious which dub was used I can check it out for you if you want? I've watched it through, but only with Japanese audio.

Thanks, upon further investigation earlier today on the Anime UK News Discord we believe that the dub is in fact the US Streamline version.

But the best scene I remember as a comparison to make is the one Mike Toole used for his Dubs That Time Forgot UK Edition segment at Cloud Matsuri where the plane blows up - in the UK dub the MC swears while the US dub does not.

Yeah just checked that scene: no swearing, American voice actors.

Thanks for the info re: Wicked City, looks like I'll be hanging onto my region 1 DVD for the UK dub. I'll still be getting this new blu ray of course; the US dub is actually my preferred way of viewing the film. Just a matter of deciding which edition to choose now...

Has anyone received their copy from HMV yet? I pre-ordered in September and received an email saying the release has been pushed back to the 7th December.

I’ve just checked my order and it’s saying the item is out of stock
