Well the Disney investors don't see it that way, before the Dec 10th meeting their stock was trading around $140 and after it jumped to $175. The investors are real happy with what Disney had to say. They liked the Model Disney laid out. The Studios lined up with a Direct-To-Consumer Streaming will Prosper and be Successful!

For new films, I only ever buy blind. Always have since the DVD days.

Understood and glad it works for some people. LaserDisc were so expensive that we always “tried before buying” and never changed our habits.

I just need to be selective and research titles through production. I have a very good success rate.

Bored and steaming go together. Fun is physical.

Universal Studios sent me another copy of Psycho in Blu-Ray.

I’m not sure if it’s fixed. This is the second Blu Ray they sent and I was interested in the 4K being repaired.

I think I have a previous blu Ray version of Psycho. Actually I think I have it on 5 Blu Rays Now because it was in two other box sets.

This time tho it came in a perfect 2 disc 4K case. I take that as my Christmas gift.

I have the Steelbook sitting downstairs, but am waiting til the new rear subs are broken in and set right before I pop it in and test the structural integrity of my house. All reviews point towards a loud dynamic experience, and will be interesting to see just how bad the dialog is.

Last night we had to dodge several arrows and a couple of bullets while watching Wonder Woman in 3D. One of the better post process 3D's. If Wonder Woman 1984 is worthy of repeat viewing then I hope there will be a 3D version with immersive audio. If Lionsgate can do 3D with immersive audio then others should as well.

yeah but even a marathon must end one say it is a question of when do you realize you are poring money and there is zero chance of it ever making sense because for it to work you need constantly increasing revenue.

but what investor? the day trader that that is looking to make a quick buck so if there is no foundation for the future it is immaterial? the investor like Lee that is happy gullible people are driving up the stock price so he can short it when reality proves the rosy projections where nothing but snake oil?

I don't think it is a matter of "working". Blind buying like blind watching both involve an in investment. In the latter it is time and a bit of money in the former it is time and a bit more money.

the way I justify it is

worst case scenario: I and only I watched the film once and it sucked. It is still a less expensive proposition then going by myself to the theatre and does not compare financially to my time.

If we all sit down as a family to watch the cost of the purchase becomes negligible.

If friends and family decide to borrow and watch it it pays back even more.

I'll take Disney's agenda instead of yours.

lol on Thursday my GF joined a video work party (since there can't be a Christmas party they all met virtually all together) at some point I over heard someone saying something like "I am off next week, what's good on Netflix". Most people were quiet, ahandfull said somethiong like "I saw X but not sure if it is still there." Now don't get me wrong, it is a Buridan's ass paradox (i.e. it is hard to make a decision when there is more then one equally good choices). But it always seams people have a hard time choosing what to watch with streaming. I have never had that with my collection.
