Has anyone here get their copy of Trading Places from homeviewingdeals yet? I got my copy of The Golden Child early last week, even though that was a different seller, alas, I ordered that title 6 days after Trading Places.

I think I received my copy of it on Monday or Tuesday of this past week, so it took about 10 or 11 days to get to me. Has it been that long for you already?

I ordered Trading Places same day as you, nothing yet - a few others from a similar looking seller arrived already that I ordered after but I know mail is slow AF right now so I wouldn't worry until end of the month.

I'm not worrying about Trading Places YET but I did order Godfather 3 from THAT SAME SELLER almost 10 days after TP, and it arrived today, with Trading nowhere to be seen...again, this is a weird time for Canada Post, so I'll let it ride for a few more days before trying to figure out what happened.

I ordered Trading Places from the same seller on December 2nd and it only arrived today. Most of my recent lettermail orders have taken around 2 weeks to get delivered to me.

Just received my copy of Trading Places today, order Dec.4th. I think it's definitely Canada Post volume. I have an Amazon order that was sent CP and was supposed to arrive on the 15th......No sign of it yet.

I'm having Ebay buyers claiming they didn't receive their items, sucks that Ebay will not help the seller even if Canada Post says they are experiencing increased volumes and shipping delays, they just ask seller to provide tracking numbers or they don't even look at your comments ... how can I sell movies for 15-20$ and provide tracking? I had a claim on a sealed item and the buyer took a picture of a clearly used Blu-Ray ... and Ebay took 27$ from my account and sided with the buyer. Sorry rant over, I just about had it with that platform.

IMO the real problem is Canada Post not offering affordable tracking, in the US tracking is like $1 extra while here it's like $10+ extra compared to Lettermail. Most buyers are patient/honest, I get maybe 1-2% of buyers claiming they have not received their item and I just refund them and forget about it, it's part of the game.

Does the buyer feedback/rating system help at all? Can you give the buyer a negative review and say that you were scammed? Does this even matter in the long-run, since buyers can probably just open another account and do the same thing again... not sure what the answer is, but that sounds really shady and it keeps me from selling stuff online.

Also eff Canadian buyers who scam Canadian companies/sellers in general, and vice-versa.

That really explains the sky-high cost to ship from usa companies to Canada thanks to massive USPS rate hikes. Its cheaper to ship to Canada from the Uk and it seems to be faster as well.

Actually you can’t even leave a negative or neutral feedback to a buyer.

Absolute scum. These buyers are the reason why sellers will eventually start charging more for shipping and/or increase their item prices to make up for their lost revenue. Very tough to vet who these scammers are unfortunately. Either way, like I said, they're absolute scum and I'm very sorry jcaste that you ended up losing money to these jerks.

I buy a lot on ebay, but it has been close to 20 years since I last sold there. Everytime I think about using it to unload some stuff, thinking about dealing with lousy people holds me back. It isn't anything expensive, so I either end up just throwing away or dropping off at Value Village instead of dealing with hassles of selling on ebay.

It's happened to me twice in the last few months. Just take the hit and let it go. Things are a mess with Canada post and it happens. One of the movies I ordered in the last 4 months never showed up and I got a full refund. Ever since it happened to me I tend to believe the buyers a bit more, especially these days. I'm sure there are some awful people that lie but most of the time it's probably true. I've sold about a hundred dvds in the last year and only two of them never showed up, so it could have been worst I tell myself. :P

I politely ask the buyer to be patient, copy/pasted Canada Posts Yellow level alert and ask to wait for a week or 2. Normally I wouldn't mind a refund, it sucks but it happens, but currently i have 3 open claims today alone and 2 other that messaged me yesterday. Usually i'd take the hit and move on, but thats 5 potential claims of 25$ on average. One of them claimed he hasn't received the item I sent and is asking for a refund when i sent it last Tuesday... that's 7 days ago (5 if you dont count the week ends) ... that's just ridiculous, they expect Amazon level shipping for a 20$ with free shipping. Even amazon is struggling to keep up with demands and on time delivery these days, so imagine how Canada Post is doing !

Oh in that case I always ask them to wait at least two weeks after the last expected date, because of Covid and all the delays. But in your case, these guys are just being ridiculous. :/

2 other "Item Not Received" claims on the 24th and one of the 25th, I decided to suspend my Ebay sales for 1 month because this is getting ridiculous. Contacted Ebay and outright told me that, if no tracking is provided they can't help me. Gave them a bunch of $h!t for their policies and how buyers can abuse them but still nothing. If I was selling 50-100 items a week I wouldn't bother and just refunded, but when you sell 5 items a week and you get 6 claims in the span of a week, it f'nin sucks! All that money and time wasted, I gave ebay another chance after giving up on it a few years back for this same exact reason, I'm about to sell exclusively on Facebook, going to reach less people but at least I won't have to deal with buyers abusing the Ebay policies.
