That's a fair point. I shouldn't judge a film or an actor based on one character.

Take Eric Tsang, for example, and compare his characters in the Lucky Stars films with his character in Infernal Affairs.

Would quite like a Cantonese track with the Cantonese High Upon High. I do really like the Loreli instrumental that plays through the vehicle chase scene, so will be pleased to hear it with decent audio.

Funnily enough, I'm probably the only one here who doesn't like 'High Upon High'.

The Cantonese version appeared on Jackie's eponymous album from 1986.

I hope so

That song is so ingrained in my head when I think about that film due to watching the old UK VHS so many times, I was shocked when I picked up the HKL disc and it had the ‘other song’ at the end!

The HKL disc been my go to since so I have yet to relive this movie the way I want to, often I would just rewatch the end credits after the film from YouTube so I can watch the outtakes with what I perceive to be the ‘correct song’

Yes I am that sad

I'd never heard high upon high before, just had to google it
I'm used to the lorelei track with the silence break at the point where Jackie falls. Think that was in the channel 4 broadcast I taped in the 90s.

Let me just quote chen lung's post here:

My first time watching AoG with the Lorelei ending song was the Mei Ah vcd. For some reason they had edited that version and removed the silence part during the outtakes of JC's accident, making the music keep going continuously. So when I finally watched the original ending credits with the silence, I thought there was a glitch in the encoding

I never knew there was a Cantonese version of High Upon High, that would be interesting

Thanks
Was this ever included in any version? Maybe it could be an option with the Cantonese track, or if not at least an extra

This shouldn't be a problem. There aren't alot of extras for this film, so hopefully that will free up space for alot of audio tracks.

I already have 6 planned with maybe two
more to be added if we can fit them in.

One way would be to ask Alan himself, or even Eric Tsang (originally the director before Jackie took over upon his recovery).
I never knew that I wonder what his version of the movie would have been like?

Hope you manage to source a nice, crisp cantonese mono track! IIRC the one on the old Joysales(?) box-set sounded quite rought? And the one on the HKR custom bluray, which I believe was sourced from a Laserdisc, sounded a bit strange and hollow, kind of like a faux stereo mix in lack of better words.

Used to own the MIHK vhs but I can't remember what the audio was like on that tape.

No worries, we have quality audio sources and they will definitely sound better than what's available on the fan version.

Thats really good to head, since FS own track wasn't that great. Couple of years since I last listened to it though! Keep up the good work!
