Any fans of this one? I noticed there isn't a thread about it. I think it's one of Nicolas Roeg's more underrated films. Fun performances, and Roeg captures a fantastically off-kilter otherworldly feel. It's probably an unpopular opinion, but I actually like Theresa Russell's take on Marilyn Monroe. It's very much her own, not a pastiche.

Great film all around. I haven't watched it years.
Not only was Theresa Russell great (love her take on Marilyn - the best I've ever seen) but the rest of the ensemble matches her. |

Glad to see I'm not the only one who admires Theresa Russell's performance in this. I've seen a lot of derision of her portrayal of Marilyn, but I thought it was original and spot-on.
I think Russell is an underrated actress overall—her later filmography is shakier than what precedes it, but I love everything she was in up through the late '80s (this included). |
