The movie was filmed for an R...

The only thing that supposedly is cut to get the PG-13 is the full-frontal nudity of the main female actress. A scene that was filmed specifically to ensure the R-rating, cause they knew that Humans Vs. Machines wasn't going to get them an R. Since it's fantasy violence. So no loss at all.

Hopefully it will be on the "extended" cut on BD

MAJOR + 1. If that's the only thing the filmmakers had to cut to ensure a PG-13, (as one stated in the thread here already, for More ticket goers, a more wide-spread demographic, which all equals - as we know - to MORE Ticket sales & Higher grosses in the long run), then who really cares if it's R or PG-13. This would only hopefully insure the Next TERMINATOR, if indeed this is 1 of 3 for a New Trilogy. To me, it looks like it'll be pretty cool & a Dark movie, and The Dark Knight did pretty good ALL around the world with a PG-13, right folks? Also as most have said, it's mainly Human vs. Cyborg violence for the most part, so how much gore would we have to see to get a "I LOVE IT!! It was seriously GORY, arms being ripped off, someone getting shot with T-1000's Arm-Attached Cannons", to make people who want an R rating, happy? Is it really That important in the long run? Let's hold off til' some early reviews come out (www.aintitcoolnews.com usually has some Very reliable early reviews), or how about this: til We SEE The Movie!, before going on and on about the Rating. - Seeing a movie Before crying over it being an R or PG-13. What a concept, huh?

+1 here also. I thought it was an okay enjoyable action flick and on BLU, it kicks major butt AQ & PQ wise as well. Great Audio reference for your systems. I didn't even notice if making it an R-rated movie would have made a difference or "improved" it, as this person wrote.

It was just a topless scene of Moon Bloodgood dancing. It wasn't full frontal, at least from what I've read.

It's sad for us but good for the top brass. They know that with a lower rating, they'll bring in more $ because all the little kiddies can go see it. Same reason why they made DH4 PG13.

i don't get all the hate about the studios trying to make more money
they are a business
that's what businesses do, they try to make money
and if they see a way to increase profits, of course they are going to do it

It just sounds so random. Total war against Man and Machine, but out of nowhere there's suddenly a scene with a topless woman dancing for no reason. Lame.
i agree
it just doesn't seem like it fits to me

OH NO! TEH WORLD IS OVER AS I KNOW IT!.....

jeez, get a hold of yourself, just cause a film gets a lower age rating than R doesn't mean it's bad by a long shot & as for you saying you won't see it, your loss if you think a big R would have made it great

sure they'll fill 10 for every1 of you that decided not to cause of that

i'll watch it & probably enjoy it a lot but at least give it a chance if you hear good word of mouth or read good reviews

Would be like Princess Leia suddenly whipping off her top and dancing around on the Death Star.
yea, we don't know the Context of the alledged Topless scene, but the Extended/Director's cut will prob. have it and explain why it was cut or whatever anyway. It doesn't make any difference to me. I'll be seeing it 1st wk-end on the local IMAX anyway. I love how some of these Big EVENT Movies are being made available on IMAX - totally cool experience!

+1. The movie cost quite a few $$$ to make, and if a ("hard") PG-13 increases earnings, makes the money back, & we get 2 more, then i'm all for it personally.

Indeed. To judge a movie by its rating is stupid. There are good movies in all ratings. Without seeing the final product of a movie we can't make a judgement one way or the other about anymore, Terminator included.

That would not help progress the story at all. It is just thrown in there. Not needed.

I'm not disagreeing, but by that train of thought, the action is not needed. Neither would just about all the movie. That is true for every movie ever made.

Having nudity in this movie does not add to the story or help progress it. War and violence is the premise of the movie. Man vs Machine. Action would be needed. It this were a love story, then i could see how nudity would jusitified for the movie.

No one has any idea why that sceen was shot. It may be very fitting to the story or at least what is happening at that time in the story. With that said if the MPAA said to them if you cut or change this one sceen we will give you a pg13. They would be stupid not to do it.

Simply put, Leia was HOT when she was chained up to Jaba....

HOT I SAY!

I would of loved to see a little more skin!

What if the story is just mindblowingly awesome?

What if the action is just mindblowingly awesome?

What if the VFX are just mindblowingly awesome?

What if the script is just mindblowingly awesome?

What if the acting is just mindblowingly awesome?

What if the directing is just mindblowingly awesome?

What if the tension and urgency are just mindblowingly awesome?

What if the cinemtography is is just mindblowingly awesome?

What if the weapons and stunts are just mindblowingly awesome?

What if the ending is just mindblowingly awesome?

Anyone who judges this BEFORE seeing because it is PG rated is a closed-minded knucklehead.
