Sony already released House of Flying Daggers knowing that it wouldn't make nearly as much money as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. I'll bet they're holding it till the holiday season when it will make more headlines.
I agree the Illusionist was excellent.
I also want Se7en, and Heat in a huge way.

You're thinking of The Sprits Within. The Advent Children isn't released yet.

They already have House of Flying Daggers and Curse of the Golden Flower. Why not Nero?
You mean Hero, not Nero.

Yes, bright colors and all that. Pure eye candy.

Sony has already released some obscure movies of the same genre (Warriors of Heaven and Earth come to mind) so I assume it's not that they are not willing to go that way. My guess is that like CTHD, they're trying to figure out when's the right time to release it (i.e., holiday season).

enjoy

Default Kikujiro no natsu (Summer of Kikujiro) on Blu-ray?

Watched this movie (one of my all time favorites) for the first time in quite some time today and noticed it was a "Sony pictures classics" and instantly wondered if it was out on Blu-ray or was planned to come out on Blu-ray. So, is it?

The Movie is the only one that would come out on Blu. Both titles are still caught up in the restructuring of Sony Wonder, but the Movie is comign out on Blu in the UK, no notice whether it's region free or not

just want to say i second the release of The Illusionist on blu i loved that movie and it's a beautiful looking movie...

anyway my other question and if someone could comment that'd be cool, given that they just released the 2 disc anniversary of hamlet on dvd why wasnt it released on hi def as well? the movie was shot on 70 mm film and is simply stunning from a visual standpoint wouldnt it have been ideal for a hi def release???

i remember when i heard about it coming out it said it was coming to blu and hd as well what happened?

Looks like Lionsgate has a winner on its hands:

James Mangold's remake of "3:10 to Yuma" is getting excellent reviews.

Russell Crowe
Christian Bale

Consider that a pre-emptive ITTCOBD

Everyone keeps saying "V" as shorthand for "V for Vendetta" but I'd love to see "V" the TV mini-series makes its way to Blu-Ray assuming it would benefit from such a transition. I'd also like to say Warner throw some money at enhancing/cleaning up the special effects in the movie for such a release.

And while I'm talking TV, I'd love to see all 5 seasons of Alias released in HD (lovely Jennifer Garner in HD).

And I'd love to see Universal go neutral so I could get Heroes and Battlestar Galactica in HD. Maybe even Knight Rider which they've shown on their Universal HD channel.
