I have been unsuccessful in getting a response from WB regarding a replacement of this one disc. I even reached out directly to the woman at Warner who usually helps me out with disc issues; no response there either. My return window with Best Buy closes on Saturday. Should I just go ahead and return the whole thing? Would Best Buy even take an opened set back?

Went ahead and exchanged it today. I must have looked like a crazy person to the employees, because I asked if could (off to the side and out of the way, of course) go through all of the discs of the replacement, that way I could mix-and-match with my old set if I found other disc issues. Just as I was about to leave, satisfied with the exchange, I noticed that three of the four spines were slashed, and one of the other spines was pretty off-center. So I had to go back up there and ask to swap out my old cases for the new ones.

My S2 Ep10 had issues at the very end of the episode. No amount of cleaning would fix it, appears there is some sort of discoloration on the disc there. I ordered a second one from bb.com, swapped the discs. Once I finish my watch through and nothing else is wrong, Ill return the later/higher priced one.

I would look them straight in the eye and say "You can put me and all your employees through the process of me buying each of these between each inspection, or we can just go through your stock here and now (with no sale occurring yet) until we find a good one. I worked retail in a prior life and had costumers go though the entire store's stock looking for a product copy that wasn't a factory defect, and we let them do it because they had that right. The store is not the manufacture, they are middle-men. If enough product is returned from the retail chain to the manufactures to hurt their bottom line, they will improve their QA process or die. I fear that these things happen so much now because the buyers have become complacent and just accept the defects. Chris |

I got errors on Disc 1 of Season 1 (3 episodes!). I thought I had an error on the Disc 3 of Season 1 but that was a bit of lint.
No matter what I do with Disc 1 it isn't playing for those select episodes. So as I close in on Season 2, I ordered a replacement. I have a limited time to watch it before I can send the second set back. I plan to do a mix and match, but is there a better way to do this other than watching all the discs which may take me the next month? I am thinking of ripping the disc to test for errors. Is this the full proof way of knowing what the problem is? I never had issues with my 4K player until Beast Master (not that I am blaming it. lol), but now I have all these discs having problem it is like a bad dream. So instead of watching them, I am hoping that this is the answer to knowing what is bad. The series looks so good, so taking it all back is not the answer for me, but getting a good complete set is what I hope to get in the end. This whole 4K set is a just a complete mess from what I have read! I hope they don't go bad later. I just wish someone knew what the actual problem is! |

I assume of GoT, HBO won’t put it out digitally in 4K? |

I'm done with season 6. Other than one disc I've not had any issues. Wiping the disc with a microfiber cloth resolved the issues. I recommend that to anyone having issues. Just make sure the cloth is clean and has no dirt that could scratch the surface.

The only major store that sells shows in 4K is Amazon I believe. So it's up to Vudu and iTunes to change that before HBO will bother. The best they can do is upgrade the HBO Max version at some point.

Thought I was out of the woods with this whole exchange business when I got home, but when I went to open the season one case, I notice that the digital copy code had been removed! Now this case was from my original steelbook set that I had swapped out with one from the new set due to a spine slash. I know for a fact that I put the digital copy code back in the season one steel, exactly how it came, because I wanted it to be an honest, even exchange, unused code and all. But somehow, between my giving them my original set, and coming back to the counter to swap certain slashed steels out, someone must have taken it out. That's crazy to me.
I went back the next day and explained the issue, and the manager, I guess, went to go look for the steelbook set that I gave back to them so I could at least be given the code from the replacement set. When he couldn't find it, he just busts open a brand new 4K set and gives me the digital copy code from there. He did use the standard set, not the steelbook set, so I guess I'm glad he didn't burn one of the limited sets just for the code, but man, I was in utter disbelief that the code was just lifted like that from the set in such a short window of time. |

Data: just finished the entire set last night. I had no problems on my Sony player (see my sig for the model), though (as mentioned earlier in the thread) I had to switch to that player from an older Samsung, which did skip and freeze.
Opinion: it was nice to see the entire show all in one stretch with few interruptions. Back when it was airing, I would sometimes view a previous season before beginning the newly released one, but not always, and I did that lesser/fewer times as the seasons went on. Basically, this means that as I went through the set, the episodes got newer and fresher to me. I had only watched the final seasons that once back when it aired, partly because I didn't buy those last 2 seasons on BD (waiting for this 4K set). This time it was full of things I didn't remember, all in greater detail, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Chris |

Currently halfway through Season 3 (watching with the other half) and the uptick in detail is amazing. The HDR looked great, too - Blackwater was stunning. Only had one hiccup on the first disc of Season 2 where the disc froze but ejecting the disc and popping it back in seemed to work.

There's 23 BD-100s in this set. I'd be surprised if they did all play flawlessly.

The problem is some errors can be fast forwarded through. On season 3 with only one flawed disc so far. I need to rip the bad disc and see if it produces errors. |
