I watched The Great Wall tonight on regular blu-ray in order to experience the Atmos audio and it was well worth it. I will watch it in 3D tomorrow, but my 3D TV is not connected to my home theater.

The movie is a silly flick, but plenty of fun just the same. It should look great in 3D as the blu-ray was solid and I suspect that the 4K version is probably outstanding, too. I will have to add the 4K disc to my collection at some point.

Another Atmos show is hard to get, but it is worth it if you are a fan of Pink Floyd. I have watched my copy a few times and it always puts a smile on my face.

Thats not a music concert, just a documentary with music sequences, correct? I was listing some of the few music concerts that use Dolby Atmos.

He does the Wall live which is 90 minutes of music, but they do have documentary style sections in between some songs though. I would still consider it a music concert though. The Wall was the first CD I bought back in 1984, so it definitely brings back some memories.

Here is a sample of what this is about. The bomber going overhead will have you checking your shorts.

When you swap for a projector in your home theater just make sure it does 3-D.

I would love to own a nice 4K 3D projector set-up, but I do not see that happening anytime soon. Really good 4K 3D projectors are very expensive and my rooms, like my budgets, are kinda small. Replacement bulbs are pricey, too.

Not to worry, though, I am very happy with my 85" Sony TV and my smaller 60" LG TV supports 3D, but the latter is located in my office without any surround sound system connected to it. The 3D image is immersive, but the TV's speakers sure are one dimensional.

Very true, some like the Christie projectors are very expensive. On the other end is something like the Epson 5050UB, it is bright and does 3-D, many users seem to be happy with it.

True if you buy the name brand bulb and housing assembly, in my case the Sony unit has a SRP ≈ $600. I buy Ushio bare bulbs for $110 to $140 and install in the old housing.

Yesterday we received our first Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine injection. Arm a little sore but no side effects.

My 62" Mitsubishi DLP had a lamp that I had to replace every 3-5 years. It was a bit of a hassle, and the cost from Mitsubishi for lamp and housing was around $165. I started to do the same thing, buy a good new lamp on eBay for $100 and reuse the housing.

We have an appointment next week to get our first Moderna Vaccine shot. Let's hope we get out of this Dark Cloud!

Watching Escape from L.A. digital 4K in Dolby Vision. Looks great. No Atmos, though. I also have the shout factory BD from last year, which rocks, but I like the 4K DV presentation, too.

I'm still working my way through the list that Wendell gave me; I watched Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them on 4K disc tonight.

Every time that I am wowed by another Atmos disc I can't help but wonder what the addition of a subwoofer will do for me? I'm excited to find out!

There's always the DynaQuad/Hafler speaker matrix surround sound option (DynaQuad will decode Dolby Surround content), all that's needed is a stereo amplifier and 3 or 4 speakers (I used Polk T15s):

Incidentally, the 3D version of that film is excellent.

Thanks, but if I had an extra AVR and speakers lying about, they would already be in use.

Yes, I agree. I own, and have seen, the 3D version. I wanted to experience the 4K disc last night. I plan to watch the sequel tonight although I have heard it is not all that good.

Not as good but once again, 3D is great.

Speaking of 4K, I see a 4K restoration of The Masque Of The Red Death in the pipeline. That should look delicious.

A great feeling when another member gets to experience a new excitement in their home theater. IMHO, the LFE you will experience with a good sub will add another dimension to your viewing pleasure. Some more titles with good LFE: Ghost Rider, Hit Man, I Am Number Four, Max Payne and Percy Jackson.

Some that has been in my room thought I had added Bass Shakers to my chairs but I assured them I had not.

Maybe cheez avenger will tell us when when new subs are added to his setup.

I will have to watch it twice; once for the 5.1 presentation and once for the 3D.

Once I get my main home theater upgraded, I will have to do something to upgrade the audio with the 3D TV in my office. Space is even more of a premium in my office, though, as most of my DVDs are located there.

I just noticed that; that does sucketh big time. Until I watch the sequel, I won't know if it is worth buying a second time on 4K disc.
