I would love for Scream Factory to pick up Dead Alive. There doesn't seem to be a reasonably priced Blu-ray out there and I know they'd do it justice.

I got rid of my coveted copy of Dead Alive years ago. Was it a mistake? Maybe. But oddly I don't miss it. I own a German import of the film and it looks pretty good, plus it's uncut. Maybe that's why I don't miss the Lionsgate BD.

It’s coming eventually. The 3 early Peter Jackson films are going to be a package deal, so whichever studio gets one gets them all.

Got my copies of They Live and Prince of Darkness. Now I just don't know which one to watch tonight...

Are the bluray discs in this 4K release the same transfers that were upscaled with the steelbook releases?

I preordered this back in September (I think) with the intention of cancelling since I already own the Studiocanal edition but I forgot to cancel and it shipped. Kinda glad I have it because I vastly prefer the Shout artwork and smaller footprint. I have very little use for the kind of swag some of these box sets come with. What am I supposed to do with art cards?

I also don't have any use for extra swag, but I still love to have it just because.

I got my Prince of Darkness and They Live on Tuesday, but the disc for POD was slightly cracked near the center and would not even load in my player... first time that ever happened.

When is Scream Factory likely to announce their next batch of releases? I would like to start counting the days until then.

Unless Scream Factory is planning to start making announcements during the last week of the month, it doesn't look like we're getting anything new for April. I've been buying Scream Factory titles on a monthly basis since they released Halloween 2 and 3 back in 2012. And each month since, I've looked forward to preordering new titles and getting the releases I had preordered months in advance delivered to my door. But with the lack of announcements and the few titles released since November being titles I already had in my collection, I'm starting to miss my monthly Scream Factory shipment, and for the first time since 2012, I barely have anything preordered.

I noticed that Amazon currently has a number of Scream Factory titles on sale, so I've used this as an opportunity to go through their back catalog and pick up some titles I had skipped out on when they were first released. I picked up the following:

The Boy Who Cried Werewolf (1973)
Sssssss (1973)
After Midnight (1989)
The Chosen (1977)
Full Moon High (1981)
Virus (1999)

Thanks to Scream Factory, I've come across quite a few hidden gems that I never would have heard of otherwise, so I'm usually more inclined to blind buy one of their releases. Some of my favorite blind buys from them are The Vagrant; I, Madman; Bad Dreams; Witchboard; Destroyer; and The Resurrected.

What are some of your favorite blind buys that you discovered simply because it was released by Scream Factory?

I ordered from Amazon. As for swag, it just depends to me. Like shirts or posters I like, other things like toys, statues, etc depends on money and or if it's something I really want.

I've made quite a few blind buys from Scream Factory, the best being Final Exam and I, Madman for sure. Others that I'm glad I gambled on are the Sleepaway sequels and The Burning. I've probably blind-bought a couple dozen titles over the years from them. Not all were worthwhile, of course. I've held onto them but never find myself returning to Fender Bender, Final Terror, Visiting Hours/Schizoid.

Some clunkers for sure but definitely worth it for the rate of films I discovered through their line.

That's a great question. Some of these I'd heard of before Scream put them out, but had never had a chance to see them. Others were total blind buys that just sounded interesting and turned out great.

I actually got into blu-ray collecting mostly because of Scream. When I first got a blu-ray player I bought some Kubrick movies on blu, but still bought DVDs for most things because they were cheaper and I didn't really see the point of HD. Eventually I started going to a store nearby once a month and picking up a Scream blu-ray to "splurge" a little. It started when I blind bought TerrorVision - a movie I'd seen on the shelf a long time ago at the video store but never picked up. After that it became kind of a tradition, and eventually I moved into other labels and then I started coming here and all. About eight years later, my $20 a month hobby has snowballed into a huge collection (with a much higher monthly cost). Time flies.
