Enjoyed episode 1. It’s going to get dark though obviously. I have a feeling this will be the director’s greatest triumph. Cracking soundtrack also. I’m not gay but I remember the AIDS commercials and posters everywhere back in the 80’s. I was only a kid but having John Hurt warn us of a new disease in his authoritative voice with a scary advert is not something I have ever forgot.

Directed by Nic Roeg also!

growing up as queer in the 2010s was weird because it was distant from Section 28 and the epidemic, I only really knew what it was from Rent

not that the 2010s was a great time to grow up queer either though

I worked for HIV/AIDS charity for 2000-2005 and that advert was lost for a while. We asked for it to be digitised so we could put on the web and they couldn't find it.... turned up a while later

I hope this wins so many awards. Especially for Lydia West and Callum Scott Howells. They're so wonderful here and I can't wait to see what they do next. I don't remember the last time I ugly cried so hard. I'm still sniffling over a half hour later. Absolutely beautiful show.

Hope this gets a Blu-ray release in the US. I'd definitely purchase it.

Anybody know if this is going to be a Region B-locked release? I'd like to purchase but am not yet region free (yes, I know, I know, I'm working on that).

My copy is just about to be sent so I'll post my findings when I receive the disk if somebody doesn't beat me to it.

I received my copy of It's a Sin today and as has it has already been reported on this site the disc's are region B locked.

When I attempted to play them in my Region A locked player a message came up on the screen that the disc was Region B locked.

For anybody interesting in purchasing this titles the series is spread out over 2 discs and the picture quality is excellent. No extras though.

Davies doesn't direct his TV programs, just to be clear. He writes and produces them, and has tremendous control over them, but he brings in experienced television directors to actually shoot them.

This was clearly something he has been building towards writing his entire life, and it was tremendously powerful.
