Why can't they carve out one screen to do 3D?

Cool, glad to hear it, SLYDoggie.
I sent an email to Cinemark and hopefully they'll consider some 3D Croods 2 show times at Cinemark theaters. I saw the first film in 3D at their theater and want to see this one in 3D too if they offer it asap. Customer feedback for Regal and Cinemark works from my experience to some degree. They have paid attention in the past to some extent. So the more people that send their theaters an email for more 3D, the better.

I beg to differ. In the current climate I can't imagine that many people willing to handle and put on glasses that they don't own (or know if they have been sanitised correctly). Be honest, would you?

I own my own IMAX & Real D 3D glasses (bought on Amazon) but, yes, I would trust the packaged 3D glasses. They are new and individually packaged. The AMC Theaters in my area have plenty of 3D wipes stationed all over the place, so I might wipe down the package and my hands but I would trust the glasses.

Just saw the movie in Dolby Cinema at AMC. Absolutely loved the movie but I couldn't help but think throughout the movie how awesome this scene would be in 3D. I hope there is some way to lay my hands on a 3D Blu-ray!

Although I won't make it in to theaters to see it, I'd still buy the 3D edition just like I did with the original.

Sometimes the 3D DCP is not made available to the theaters for the satellite ingestion, it’s out of the theater management hands.

It's surprising that the people who ***** about having to wear 3D glasses to see the movie properly wouldn't be more annoyed with having to wear face masks. I hate face masks and won't go to a theater as long as I need one (but I won't demand they drop that requirement, because that's silly.)

Understandably because it's the holiday 4 day event, my theater hasn't contacted me back about 3D shows for The Croods 2.

I did go to see it in 2D as painful as that was knowing I'm missing the 3D version, just to experience the movies again since Vanguard last week, Honest Thief a few weeks ago, and Tenet before that. It's great to be able to see new movies in theaters again.

But this would've been a lot better in strong 3D. 2D is boring by comparison.

Croods 1 - Fun adventure movie 8/10 3D 9/10
Croods 2 - Interesting vacation resort family dispute movie 7/10 3D ?/10

Croods 2 wasn't as exciting as the first film IMO. Going to rewatch the first one this week in 3D at home.

Real D, yes. Imax glasses they hand out? With all of the cleaning they're touting at some theaters, probably they're cleaned and dipped in disinfectant. But no Imax theaters are open in my area anymore sadly.

Even so, that is probably why they're not doing it, since they normally request people to recycle their glasses, but the mere thought of that would probably make people question putting them on. So good point.

Agreed.

And I also agree there were some potentially great 3D shots and angles in this film that I didn't get to experience since the theater isn't supporting 3D.

The theater I went to was nearly empty. I took my mask off while I ate slowly, for most of the movie. There was not anyone in my seating area.

The Croods:
Very funny,
Meaningful,
Smooth...
Storyline 9.5/10
3D 10/10
I've been watching it for thousands of times

The Croods: A New Age:
A little bit boring,
Typical Dreamworks style,
Not much fun,
Less meaningful,
A lot of bad jokes,
Storyline 5/10
3D 10/10
haven't planned to watch it again

Cool to hear the 3D was good.
Yeah, the story line was just okay, and nothing exciting IMO. Mostly talking.

Default 3D shows in the UAE

There were 3D shows in UAE theatres, couldn't catch it there.
Hopefully we get a Blu-ray 3D release.

Yes.

So I'd say Croods 2 is 85% talking, only 15% action related scenes. There are a few funny moments that made me smile a little. That helped the otherwise sort of dry storyline about two conflicting families trying to get a long in paradise.

I see the pre-order has gone up for Croods 2 on Amazon. No 3-D release alas. Guess all hopes rest on other territories.

Yes, I might expect Germany, France and Italy to maybe have blu ray 3Ds. Hong Kong maybe too.

Didn't it take a while for Trolls World Tour 3D disc to show up for pre-order?
