I think a lot of people bailed after 3, and it's their loss. 4 is a darn fun slasher movie, my personal favorite of the sequels.

I’ve always like the Wrong Turn series for this one I don’t know about. Hopefully they still have deformed cannibal killers & not just crazy folks living in the woods lol.

I was so close to being one who bailed after 3, but something about the 4th made me grab it. So glad i did. I then grabbed 5 and hated that on first viewing, so I almost quit again. I saw 6 in store and passed, but my wife (then girlfriend) went and got it. Couple days later it was recalled. I have since re-visited 5 and found myself really liking it. All I recalled not liking wasn't there anymore. It didn't feel as cheap, Bradley didn't feel wasted, and I think I just "got it" more on a second try. 6 has been great from the get-go IMO.

Who were they making more films for if a lot of people bailed after 3? We're at #7. Someone has to be watching these and wanting more.

I just rewatched the trailer. I really HATE modern movie soundtracks. Also, why did this give me Purge vibes?

I posted these thoughts before, in the wrong thread. I'm hoping this reboot possibly helps us get a fresh new transfer of the 2003 original film, as well. My wallet says yes because I want this to be decent. No campy, just camping gone wrong, with some interesting looking traps. We're high due for another mean-spirited woods-slasher that takes itself seriously, that's not a comedy, spoof, or parody of itself. The reboot looks a bit like Wrong Turn of the Nerds, meets a cheesy nod to The Final Terror, with a bit of Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes sadistic flavor to it, complete with a whole host of doosh characters that are just begging to get what they get. I'm in. With very low expectations, of course.

But I digress. Back on the proper topic: Can we get a fresh new scan of Wrong Turn 2003? Hello? Vinegar Syndrome? Help!

Disney owns the original Wrong Turn franchise now and I doubt they'll give the original a new scan. All they care about from Fox is Star Wars and Avatar.

Hopefully this new movie does well enough that we finally get that desert-set sequel Wrong Turn At Albuquerque

Hopefully this new film does well enough where they start a new franchise of anthology backwoods horror films.

They already preemptively made it when they made Hills Have Eyes.

Actually the movie was made by Summit Entertainment (Absorbed by Lionsgate) and Constatin Films and picked up for US distribution by Regency. The sequels were also done by Summit Entertainment and Constatin Films.

Regency will probably loose the US distribution rights soon and it will revert to Summit Entertainment (Absorbed by Lionsgate) and Constatin Films.

Now, will Lionsgate re-release it or shelve it, that will be the question.

I have never saw the first Wrong turn film. I own them all on Digital but never watched any of the movies. Its on my list of things to watch. If Lionsgate released a new set with new transfers etc. I would be all over it though. I would imagine their are other me's out there so I would think there is still money to be made. I admit that the trailer for this one looks pretty good but Ive been down that road before.

I feel like an equivalent to this movie’s existence would be like if Victor Miller made a new movie called Friday the 13th but it was about some kid with perpetually bad luck getting into summer camp shenanigans.

How you take that approach and make, by a large margin, the best movie in the franchise tho?

Other apt descriptions of this film: Leprechaun Origins or The Grudge 2020 but if they were actually good

I loved it and plan on buying the Blu-ray. Just curious where you'll have to go to redeem the digital? I believe Lionsgate ones are hard to redeem now or something? I just remember with John Wick 3 people having issues.

Sounds pretty bad.... Misleading marketing, perhaps some laughable and obvious attempts at social commentary and casting/characterizations aimed at what they want to promote to gen z.

They were all direct to video after the first, and back when rental places still existed, so that was probably driving most of the demand. They could be made quick and cheap, and made money, the perfect formula for more sequels.
