Trying to prioritise which titles to get, have any of these been discounted into ~£6.99 odd or 2 for £15 before and which are discounted for the first time?

Judgment at Nuremberg (think this was £9.99 at HMV), Bait, Pocketful of Miracles, After the Fox, Napoleon, Mademoiselle, The Best of COI, Scandal, Room at the Top, Maurice, Salo, Blue Black Permanent

If it’s gone down to £9 before I don’t feel a rush to get it with so many other titles on offer as it’s only a couple of quid.

Blue Black Permanent has been £6-7 before, and Room at the Top might have too (and maybe Maurice too). I would prioritise Nuremberg, Bait, Miracles, Fox, Napoleon (!!), Mademoiselle, COI, Scandal and Salo.

Considering Salo myself but will I ever actually watch it (a similar predicament I have with Indicator's upcoming Irreversible)? Feel like the Trilogy of Life set is something I'd get more enjoyment out of.

Also considering Cosh Boy, The Best of COI, Legend of the Witches/Secret Rites, How I Won the War, It Couldn't Happen Here, Maitresse, Requiem for a Village, The Black Panther, Pasolini (Ferrara), and The Magic Flute (but I do have the Criterion Bergman set). Were any of these disappointing to anyone, or better than they expected?

I've ordered The Best of COI today, seen most of them before and there are some gems in the set, an absolute steal at £5.99 imo.
Of the other films mentioned that i've seen, The Black Panther and Pasolini were both terrific, Requiem For A Village i enjoyed as well but would be more difficult to recommend as a blind buy.

I leaned onto boxsets and scanavos to cut it down

Maurice would have only have been for the extras anyway. If I feel I change my mind I could always do a separate order for Maurice, Salo with Detective Pikachu 4K I suppose

Some of the public information films are streaming on national archive websites, but not in HD. Some of the others have been in previous BFI DVD sets

Just received my Napoleon order (second version, which is white case in a vertical slipcase) and the Dietrich set: not a fan of this red at all. I would actually never associate Marlene with red at all.

Wages of Fear just dropped to £5.99 on Amazon so I got that. Was going to get Rashomon too but trying to show some restraint as I've still only watched Seven Samurai out of the Kurosawa box set so far.

There's a few on HMV I'm interested in like Tokyo Story, Green Tea Over Rice, The Black Panther and Pocketful of Miracles and Scandal but not enough that I want to do a big order to get them all at once, especially if they're out of stock now. I'm still waiting on HMV to get the Takeshi Kitano set back in stock to send me.

Will pick up a few of those if Amazon price match them though.

If I order an out of stock item, from HMV, with an in stock one, will the OOS item delay the order?

I pre-ordered the Dietrich set from Zavvi, but instead of shipping it, they now list it as "out of stock". Is this normal for them? Can I assume they will get stock soon from BFI? I was hoping it would be shipped already.

When I ordered the Kitano box set a few weeks ago (still waiting for it to be back in stock) I ordered it with a 2 for £12 deal. Those 2 got sent separately as they were available.

Yes they will sent in stock items ASAP, followed by out of stock items whenever available.

Just bought Napoleon for £19.71 from Amazon at the weekend, however by the time I found out about it being £5.99 at HMV it was already showing as sold out so not too miffed.

Wow, Napoleon for 6 quid. Hopefully it’ll come back into stock at that same price.

Not a dealbreaker for most but the BFI Judgment at Nuremberg is the general release version: only the TT and Capelight versions have the roadshow overture, intermission, entr'acte and exit music, which are also missing on the Kino and Shock discs.

After the Fox is worth getting even if you don't like the film as it has the 1961 Children's Film Foundation (CFF) The Last Rhino, albeit CFF ONLY distributed it according to IMDB, among the extras.

Not to mention the 2.0 track is a down-mix of the 5.1 remix and not the original mono track in a “dual mono” container.

I wasn’t aware of it being included in the extras, glad to see more CFF being included in extras. The connection to the main feature seems to be Maurice Denham.

Cosh Boy - features Johnny on the Run (1953)
Town on Trial (Indicator) - features Adventure in the Hopfields (1954)
The Battle of the Sexes - features A Ghost of a Chance (1968)
Age of Consent (Indicator) - features The Boy Who Turned Yellow (1972)

EDIT:

searching on Google came up with this release
