It's great to have another Jon Pertwee season!

Hopefully, Kicks will have the pre-order up and running soon. The last season I pre-ordered from them was packaged in a small cardboard box which was great!

Are they normally priced the same as JB/Amazon?

Yes, it was the same price. I recollect that I used a promo code Kicks10 to get 10% off. I think you had to sign up for the newsletter... Not sure if that promo is still running though.

Why are australians having to wait up to 2 months for the pertwee set(s8)? This is pathetic and explains why copies of the UK release are selling on ebay for 3 or 4 times the price. I have collected most of the who classic sets, but if this is the on going deal, that they only make a certain amount of each set, aus and uk,and then they pretty much sell out(Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee era seems the most popular),then I am not going to bother buying anymore, as it seems the BBC is only interested in $$$'s (and lots of it), and helping greedy ebay sellers make a ton of cash also.

I'm not sure if you saw but due to high demand they've started re-releasing the sets in non limited packaging. All the same content, pre-orders up for Season 12 and 19.

Wondering if we get those too over here, prefer not to deal with Zavvi. At any rate, no point buying those overpriced sets on eBay or hassling with Zavvi's tiny stock numbers.

We’ve always been behind the UK with the releases. Waiting for the BBC VHS releases in the early ‘90’s was a pain, but that’s Australia.

I never did import. I was more patient back then.

The Flea-bay cockroaches that take advantage of their fellow fans (some of the sellers aren’t even fans) should feel some discomfort at the reissues. Probably not for long, as those too get snapped up and resold.

At one time the DVDs were released like one week after the UK here. Now we're back to the 90s model for some damn reason. So much for progress...

I think the first couple of BD releases were scheduled closer to the UK release, but after the continual delays with those early UK releases, the local release dates seem to have slipped back, presumably to avoid having to delay them.

Also now up for pre-order from KICKS.
Not sure if they have any current discount codes other than the 10% off email signup code.

Slightly OTT but yesterday the galleries store in Sydney still had about 5 copies of the trial of a timelord season on blu ray too (eligible for buy 1 get 1 free)

Nice they released this early. I see this in stock at plenty of stores on JBs web site.

Just a shame they don't have any of the older titles I missed out on to pair this with. Unless someone on Sydney north side wants to go halves for this set during the current JB B1G1F sale. PM me.

Just received my copy from Kicks... With the worst packaging ever!
It was sent in a thin plastic sachel with no bubble wrap or padding. Very disappointing.
Surprisingly there's only one slightly dented corner. Which isn't too bad, but I absolutely won't be pre-ordering any more sets from them.

Got mine from JB the last day of BOGOF (paired with the Outer Limits box, so it was free really). Originally ordered it on Amazon but they emailed me saying they were having trouble getting copies.

Has anyone who ordered via Amazon received their copy?

I also originally was going to go the amazon way for the season 8 boxset. but changed to pick up from jbhifi, mostly due to the B1G1 free deal(got the Indy boxset for ""free") . Considering the amount of the boxsets are made, sounds like jbhifi get the majority of the sets perhaps?

Also got mine from JB's through the B1G1F sale with the 4K Snyder Cut of Justice League. Perfect timing for both.

Still most stores didn't get many copies. Some none or 2 at most. One of my local stores still had 5 so Was able to get 2 copies during the B1G!F sale. One for a friend. Knowing this would sell out very quickly and there would be unscrupulous people out there buying then purely just to resell. Seeing how limited these are and the price they sell for once they are sold out.

Next set ro be released will be Doctor Who: Classic Season 24. Sylvester McCoy's 1st season as the 7th doctor on August 25, 2021 and alot more expensive. Unless there is a % off sale sometime near and after the release date before they all sell out.
