God I sure hope so. The original BD is decent enough but could use a remaster. I re-watched this a few months ago for the first time in many years, still holds up well. One of Mann's best IMHO.

I deliberately abstained from the remastered Blu-ray in anticipation of a 4K disc, so I hope this really is happening! And gimme Speed, too, as Geoffy was saying

They've been very wary about non-franchise related live action stuff for years, I'm not sure they've ever changed their mind while throwing us the occasional bone like Hocus Pocus and Home Alone on UHD. We can only hope that the response to those discs was such that it made the bean counters take notice, though it probably helps that Speed and Heat have 4K HDR remasters ready to go.

I wasn't a fan of that remastered disc. Always preferred the look of the original Warner Bros VC-1. Plus the sound is wank on the Fox disc.

+1 For Speed. I was just about to do a re-watch but now I shallz wait.

I love this announcement because it very specifically disproves Geekgab as a legitimate source.

Just a few days ago he “confirmed” a UHD of Heat would never happen.

Did they do the HDR grade when they did the remastering back in '16/'17? Or did they HDR-it-up later?
