I rewatched this about a month ago and it's been on my mind a lot lately. Terrific movie!
Exciting news that Disney/Fox might be ramping up their live action 4k disc game. Will be interesting to see how this looks. I'm not too thrilled with the 4K digital version, which looks too soft, dark, and dull. Hopefully this will be an improvement. |

Mann messing with the aspect ratio/framing and then the warmer tweaking of the color temp did it for me.

Regency, the production company that made the movie, controlled the distribution rights and had a deal with Warners. It wasn't owned outright by Warners and, as it happens, Fox had a stake in Regency so when the license for Warners expired then Fox picked up the distribution. LA Confidential is another such movie, so Kim Basinger is now a Disnee Princess.

So I think if this Heat doesn't get something like that then it will just be the same old audio you have. This is Disney/Fox running the show not Warner Brothers. So you have that too. Anyhow I have both Blu-Rays to Heat the first and the Remastered. The first one came with the DolbyTrueHD and the Remastered has the 5.1 DTS MA. The DTSMA is the upgrade. The Center is mixed more powerfully with the Surrounds now and the Surrounds are also higher, but balanced better too, plus it's more clean and powerful overall. I just tested them to see if I noticed the difference. I did. The Remastered with or without the Black Slip is the best yet I have heard. The picture upgrade is worth it on the Beetlejuice 4K even when they're in the Attic upstairs it helps so much with shadows and darkness. You see so much more detail. It will all depend on how well its mastered. As long as the 4K's picture is stellar than can honestly use the DTS MA again, but not that DolbyTrueHD 5.1 mix it is very unbalanced. |

Has this actually been confirmed? The description on that German site isn’t accurate and makes it sound like some Mafia film - DeNiro as gang boss and Pacino is an FBI agent?

I just realized the source is the German announcements. I hope this means the US is getting them on the 25th of May!
If Disney also releases The Abyss and True Lies on 4K i`ll have to apologize for every insult I ever threw at them ![]() Also dear Disney: If you`re finally opening the vaults than Stakeout and Shoot To Kill pretty please! ![]() Maybe they finally realized that with theaters closed and no new movies out, they can still make decent money by catering to the film collectors ![]() |

This is such fantastic news!
I encourage you all to buy this (and Speed) and show Disney just how much life is still there in the physical market! That should convince them to keep releases like this going. ![]() |
