Bought Rage 2 on sale. It’ll probably be the February free game.
Anyway the NPCs are more unique & have more dialogue than Cyberpunk. Also the game ya know just works. Gonna be a big deal once iD Software makes games for Xbox only. |

Rage 2, I heard Avalanche of Just Cause worked on the vehicles, which means the vehicles mostly control like tanks. Bad turning, poor controls if that's true. I've had awful experiences with some vehicles in the Just Cause games. |

They’re owned by Zenimax/Bethesda’s who MS bought. It’s unknown whether MS will keep those games exclusive or not. My guess is at least the big games will just be timed exclusives and will hit PS5 6 months or a year after launch. Spencer and other MS execs have talked about how consoles sold aren’t their main metric and they’re focused on overall revenue. So I’d imagine big things like future Elder Scrolls, Doom etc. games will be exclusive for a bit to help sell consoles and Gamepass subs and then hit PlayStation to sell more copies and bring in more money.
Precedent is already there with things like Minecraft being everywhere, games like Cuphead and the Ori games going to Switch later on etc. Last edited by dmaul1114; 01-24-2021 at 05:20 PM. |

The double jump makes the combat 1000% more exciting. Last night I was doing gigs solely by jumping around and smacking people with the gold plated baseball bat lol

Shots
F***ing Fired. Ori & The Blind Forest Director calls CD Projekt Red and Hello Games (No Man's Sky) recent marketing tactics as deceptive and calls them snake oil salesmen "Here the entire CDPR PR department took all the cues from what worked for Molyneux and Murray and just went completely apeshit with it," writes Mahler. "Every video released by CDPR was carefully crafted to create a picture in players minds that was just insanely compelling. They stopped just short of outright saying that this thing would cure cancer. This strategy resulted in a sensational 8 million pre-orders." Been playing 1-2 hours every day, still no crashed on 1.1. They've definitely done something, because previously I would get a crash every 2-3 hours. My goodness it takes forever to do all the crimes and gigs.

That Ori director must be clean as a whistle is all I’ll say. I’m guessing none of his games released with bugs in them on launch, or less than ideal state (haven’t checked). Either way, out of professional courtesy he should probably leave the moaning about this game to game journalists and gamers on forums.

If he's speaking as a potential fan who was fooled, and then expressing how he felt about it, then I can understand it from the point of view that creative developer people have opinions much like anyone else.
Of course if he's clearly identifying himself as a developer and saying that kind of stuff, then it's kind of like when Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails says what a joke he thinks the music industry is, with Britney Spears, Rob Zombie and Korn among other bands he thinks are not up to his lofty standards, but in his case, it sounds a bit arrogant like he's the authority on what's good or not. In the case of CDPR, they clearly committed a crime against gamers with deception and lies, so it's really fine to call that out IMO. Even if his game is flawed, he probably didn't promise loads of amazing stuff and then release a totally busted game. Plus isn't he only one guy? Should it matter? And maybe it does. |

Pretty sure he still means what he said. And he should. Anyone who still defends CDPR at this point (not saying you are, but people on the internet still are) are nothing but blind, loyal apologists at this point. Rockstar fans grilled Rockstar games on GTA5's choppy PS3 frame rate. Bethesda fans grilled Bethesda on Fallout 4 and 76 with it's issues. It's time CDPR fans drink a tall glass of humility and admit we, and everyone in-between who bought their game, got hardcore taken advantage of regarding it's stability issues and genre standard features that Cyberpunk 2077 is missing. The Ori Director is right, they went full Snake Oil Salesman. So badly so that their own investors, despite selling 13 million copies - is suing them for releasing a shit game and intentionally withholding it's stability issues from not only the general public, critics, but also from their own investors. Which lead to hundreds of millions of dollars being lost from the backlash that CDPR created by trying to pull a fast one on consumers and critics. |

But yeah, CDPR really botched Cyberpunk's release with misleading statements, hid the console versions pre-release by only allowing reviews of the PC version and then had the last gen and PS5 bc versions have tons of issues at launch (Xbox Series X versions was largely fine, I had 2 crashes in 64 hours, and was even better on a good PC). So I 100% think they deserve the blowback they are getting from fans. They should have delayed it longer, or just put out the PC version and delayed the console version. They are a PC focused company first and foremost, what with owning and running GOG etc. But I'd keep my mouth shut if I was a developer as I may have had my own games launch with issues in the past, or may have them in the future. Lot of that is out of their control as unless they're indies their publishers and/or investors can pressure them to release things before they're ready. However, I wouldn't call it a shit game. I think it's a great game and it was third on my GOTY list. It just has shit versions on PS4/PS5/Xbox One that shouldn't have been released until they were ready. With only 2 crashes and a few glitches that required reloading saves, and the quality mode that looked much better to me (and wasn't in the PS5 version) I had a great time with it on XSX. It was even better on a decent PC. They should have just delayed and not released it on consoles until everyone could have that experience (or ideally even better than that) instead of rushing it out for the holidays and satisfying their investors. |

So many CDPR investors were salivating for the big Christmas season of sales that CDPR felt there was no possible way they could delay the game for consoles and crunched to release that day 0 busted patch, hoping it would smooth things over at least.
CD Projekt Red aren't free like they claimed; they're controlled by shareholders. In the days before Witcher 3 was released to PS4, they would've delayed that game yet again until it was really ready. I completed Witcher 3 without a single patch and didn't experience many bugs at all in my PS4 playthrough. The graphics looked great at launch, with a decent frame rate except in forests, a few crashes at most, and some weird pedestrian glitches once in a long while. That game was so much more polished than Cyberpunk. |

That said, I have no animosity toward them. I waited for release and only bought once it was clear the XSX version didn't have the issues of the last gen versions or PS5's BC version. They're second to none IMO for making open world games with great little stories for most side quests that make me want to do them even as someone who actively dislikes most open world games these days. I'll be their for Cyberpunk DLC and whatever they do next...but no preordering and always waiting for reviews and impressions before spending money. To be fair, I do that with 99% of days. Sony and Nintendo's major first party studios are about the only ones I still trust to release polished games. |
