we had a AMC Theater in Madison up at the university but I think they changed owners.
haven't been there in like 10 years. your AMC in milwaukee is the closest one to me.

you have 4K screens already. may have to come that way to see X-Men Origins: Wolverine

So is this effective immediately or what? I haven't been to the movies since I saw The Dark Knight at IMAX but me and some family members were wanting to check out Wolverine. If my local AMC has this going on it would definitely make me wanna go more.

Yeah- watched Wolverine this last weekend on the "Ultra" screen. HUGE screen, and it looked really good. I'd say that it was comparable to how sharp it'd look at home but still to me looks like it'll look better at home. That's what's surprising- you'd think hearing 4k resolution it'd blow away any home presentation.

it wasn't 4K, but seeing 'Watchman' in IMAX-Digital [comprised of two 2K images interlaced] was very impressive, the colours had tremendous pop and vibrancy. What is the dimensions of the 'ultra' screen - I'm curious to know?

Sony 4K I've read is best for screens 55 feet (minimum) and wider.

Supposedly the best 2K DLP units are NEC's that throw a tremendous amount of light on very large screens; the Arclight, Ziegfeld.

They're 75ft wide by 32 feet tall by default, but can vary by location.

what? AMC has 6 dollar shows on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays before noon - what more could you ask for??

Sent a snail mail letter to AMC to see if I could get a response as to what the timetable and market city rollout plans will be - if I get a response, which I'm not holding my breath over, will post back here what I learn.
