Indianapolis Star reporter says the Colts inquired about Carr first, then Wentz.

I wouldn't think that Carr was on the market. Carr would have been a definite upgrade.

Carr's name has been out there but only within the context of the Raiders being able to upgrade to Watson. This is the approach other teams seem to be taking, Niners too. If they can upgrade, with Watson being everyone's target, they make the deal, otherwise they stand pat.

Sure. Watson is the one exception to the current climate: Nearly every team is ready to make a play for Watson, even to epic levels of stupid self-destructive offerings (i.e. Carolina).

He was having an MVP caliber season before tearing his ACL. He was never the same after that, devolving into a middling-at-best QB. I don't know if it's his mental toughness, the knee injury hampering him more than we let on (basically an RG3 situation), changing coordinators, or a combination, but he took a nosedive afterwards.

This is the perfect situation for him to regain his MVP form that was sadly never going to happen in Philly. Let's see what happens.

Fun fact, with Wentz being traded, not a single QB drafted in the first round from 2009 to 2016 is still with his original team, 22 of them.

I heard a stat on the radio tonight that's pretty insane. There were 22 quarterbacks drafted in the first round between 2009-2016. None of them are still with the team that drafted them. Carson Wentz, Matthew Stafford, and Jared Goff were the last three until this offseason.

They may force his hand to either play or take the year off unpaid.

I think the stat that no teams still have their #1 QB pick for so many years is why. If you think your QB is the guy, you don't just give him away.

Of the 2017 first round QBs, if Watson did get traded, 2 of the 3 from that year would be off their teams as well.

I always tell Bears fans that finding THE QB isn't as easy as they make it out to be. I think in this area, Bears fans see the Packers with back to back HOFers and think there's 31 other HOF QBs in the NFL, just not on the Bears. And Green Bay really lucked into those two to begin with.

They could do that, but would it be in their best interest? The working relationship appears broken. They wouldn't exactly have to give him away. They could get players and multiple first round picks, and for a team rebuilding, those would be extremely valuable, More so than a disgruntled QB who may not even play. The whole situation sounds poorly managed on the Texans part.

Don’t underestimate the stubbornness of Cal McNair.

The poll for this thread was never updated before the Super Bowl. Maybe it could be updated now to guess where Deshaun Watson will play next season.
