Didn't know much going into this since I'm not into Supergirl's interpretation of these characters. I kind of wish the show was set in Metropolis. This feels too Smallville 2: Electric Boogaloo and not in a good way. I'll check it out a few more episodes though.

Its sort of a benefit not being into Arrowverse on this show since you are not asking a whole lot of questions about how this fits into it right now.

The biggest one of course being that last time we saw them on Supergirl they had one baby on Argo City which they put on a pod ala Superman before it got destroyed. Then somehow when they re-made the multiverse during Crisis they now have teenage twins and that never happened. Or why Supergirl didn't show up to help (even though, Superman not showing was a running joke on SG for a while...)

Earth-Prime has a different history than Earth-1 did, namely being that the Supers even exist on it with the rest and have for some time. Just means Lois got pregnant earlier but they still used Clark's father's name, but also had a twin. It's not really hard to figure out.

Why would Supergirl show up anyway? She isn't from Smallville... though maybe she'd have been there for the funeral, as would have Barry... but I'm sure that's a COVID issue more than anything.

Logically she would have been there for the funeral and maybe when he was dying from the kryptonite shard, but again, there are tons of times SM should have been on SG as well. Thats why we get the infamous shot of his boots in S1 and they sent him off to Argos in the first place.

I get that Crisis is a convenient way for them to change anything they want and say its because the multiverse collapsed and was rewritten, but that doesn't make it any less ridiculous at times.

Crisis aged up their first son and gave them a second son Cap Luthor is from an alt earth and who knows regarding Kara not being at Martha's funeral.

A lot of people actually think he's Alexander Luthor, the son of Lex and Lois from an Alt Earth that got destroyed in crisis. It would track with a lot of the stuff we were shown in the episode.

Before he started talking about his world being destroyed I was first thinking Conduit, which would have been pretty cool. Not to be though.

TNT reran the Pilot yesterday, so I got to see it...and I was surprised by how much I liked it. If the show can keep this kind of quality up instead of rehashing old stories or delving into PC crap, I'll keep watching.

Just came here to read the comments and seems to be worth watching so I'll too.

I've become a bit more interested in checking out 'Smallville' since it features one of my favorite actors from 'Dukes of Hazzard' (John Schneider) so gotta work out finding time for all this.

This was obviously going to happen. Especially since the other remaining ArrowVerse shows, not ending this season, have already been renewed.

I mean the first episode had very high ratings for a CW show. That probably had a lot to do with it as well.

Definitely watch Smallville. I may be biased, but in my opinion it's one of the best superhero/superhero-adjacent series made. Daredevil, Doom Patrol, and others are also top-tier series, but among them Smallville's non-TV MA rating and lighter feel make it unique next to all the edgy (but good) series which are so popular right now.

And virtually all these shows are set in big cities, so Smallville is a nice change in terms of setting. Superman & Lois ep 1 spoiler:
[Show spoiler]And Superman & Lois seems headed in the same direction, so that's nice (and probably saves on budget to spend on the FX?).

I liked how all the main characters evolved a bit more in this latest episode. Have to see how this progresses further.

I'm guessing they'll do a twist where golden boy QB Jonathan turns evil & "the one with issues" is actually the good son.

Decent pilot, only real problem area was that terribly written & acted girl (Sarah?) who gave us the bad drama trifecta of small town meth labs, teen suicide attempts & having a roid rage boyfriend, all within about a minute of screen time. Like, thank you for that shockingly dark update, exposition girl.

Edit: also, nice avatar, Chedwiggen.

Agreed. Smallville still has the best Lois and Lex from any show or movie IMHO.
