I'm glad it's like that personally since I have neither the time nor the desire to watch most of them. I liked season 1 of Jessica Jones, but that's it.

The Disney Plus shows won't have that many episodes so they won't be time consuming I guess.
It is very simple.
MCU has this logo.

Marvel Entertainment is this logo.

Careful saying different companies, those shows were all done by Marvel, but the difference is Feige had nothing to do with them.

Feige has always run Marvel Studios, but up till now they were only producing the films, everything else was coming from Marvel Entertainment, which meant Marvel was still overseeing them, but they weren’t connected to the MCU.

In the beginning it was clear Marvel wanted them to be, but Feige was getting so tired of those higher up at Marvel trying to mess with his side of things (look up the creative committee), he essentially got Disney to step in so those at Marvel could no longer interfere (notice the sharp increase in consistent quality after Phase 2).

Originally everything was under the Marvel umbrella, until it wasn’t, hence why the Netflix shows only were able to reference things up to the first Avengers film.

This argument is flawed because then you have to bring in the Fox shows too.

You’re right I should have specified. I was replying in response to the shows Marvel made without the involvement of Fox or Sony.

The Netflix and ABC shows were both originally intended to connect to the MCU, but it was clear that since Feige was not involved, he never saw it that way, which is why the references were a one-way street.

Overall a vast disappointment.

WandaVision is an overrated overblown near waste. This coming from a MCU slappie. Poorly written shallow supporting characters ALL. The alleged $200 million budget never hit the screen. Padded wandering run time and disjointed development only to set up the future. Plus, the annoying giant middle finger to the fans with the Ralph Bohner lame intentional fizzle.

Looking forward to seeing the leads in Dr. Strange but this series left a lot to be desired unless you are a pure loyalist or have been suffering from MCU withdrawal so bad that anything was welcome.

Kevin Feige basically said to the interviewer, sorry I can't hear you (jokingly of course), then he walks away.

Did he have any involvement with Agent Carter?

I love Marvel but out of the hour run time you could have cut 40 minutes and changed NOTHING.

I found the exchanges to be awkward, negating the chemistry between the leads that we had seen before. I found NOTHING to be charming. Yes, I'm intrigued by certain aspects and Easter Eggs but, to me, it was something to endure and not enjoy.

I have a feeling we are going to get 7 episodes of nonsensical, poorly constructed fluff and then 2 episodes of pure gold to close.

This seems to be the exception. It was created by the writers of the Captain America and later Avengers films. It was pushed into existence by Louis D'Esposito who is still one of the big three at Marvel Studios. Feige is listed as an Executive Producer. However, so is Jeph Loeb and he was still the Marvel TV overlord at the time (and likely responsible for the majority of the poor decisions made).

Also it's the only show acknowledged in the MCU films by having characters from it (Peggy, Howard Stark, and Jarvis--who was eventually featured in Endgame).

Agent Carter is the only series where a character (Jarvis) is originated and shows up in the movies.

I think SWORD might've been created after the battle of New York. There was no need for a space agency before that. Or perhaps Fury created it after SHIELD fell since he needed someone to monitor space.

Or due to Fury knowing about aliens in the 90s, he created SWORD in the shadows so they'd be ready, but wouldn't alarm people. If they knew about alien threats, why would they wait 20ish years?

Very revealing interview -

These were my main takeaways -

[Show spoiler]Here is the entire sequence of events with Agatha -

1. Agatha detects a powerful magical anomaly, realizes the Scarlett Witch has surfaced and comes to Westview to extract her magic and skills.

2. Moves into the house of this chump Ralph Bohner and takes him hostage and puts him under her spell.

3. Casts herself as nosy neighbor Agnes and begins invading Wanda's house to find out more.

4. Finally making no headway, she casts Ralph as QuickSilver to dupe Wanda and uses him as her mole inside Wanda's house to discover more.

5. That failing too, she finally kidnaps the kids and tries to get to the bottom of it.

I think some of the above is not made clear.

And the last piece implied to me is that -

[Show spoiler]They actively tried to make a Dr. Strange cameo happen but couldn't do it because they either couldn't arrange the logistics or couldn't write a scene that they all could agree on.

He created the Avengers Initiative because of the events in Captain Marvel. That's why I think SWORD came later.

The more I think about it, the less I like the Peters/Bohner thing. It's just way too much wink wink fan service. Instead of pulling you further into the story it ends up pulling you out.

Can't change it but it would have been better if Bohner had been some Schmoe, Wanda would still have been like wtf this doesn't seem right.

I think there is more to come with that. There was a lot cut because of coivd. Someone else can pick up those threads.

Since Ralph did not have an ID. Whose to say he was not Jimmies witness.
