Being in social care, you should really have been one of the first mate. I guess you'll be called up any time now.

I’m private so I slipped through the net. It’s on the radar now but the talk is that I will have to go outside of the city to get it which is a drag when I’m so busy. I have other health problems at the moment and it doesn’t feel as important as those.

That might sound weird logic but that’s my head. Maybe, I’m past caring.

I'm not sure why, but I always had the impression members here were in their 40's to perhaps early 50's. Maybe I should rephrase that and say I'm the oldest Brit on here.

That's not very practical really when you've already got so much on. Where I live, our local GP surgery is currently doing them. Sorry to hear about your other health issues.

If anyone in this thread has Batman V Superman on digital, the aspect ratio for the IMAX scenes has switched over to 1.43:1. It also has Atmos sound. I only ever had it in HD, so I got the AR change and Atmos upgrade from PCM -- but no 4K DV upgrade. No worries since I have the new 4K remastered disc coming. FYI

Promoting companies whose stocks you own is one right?

I know you own some Disney stock and I imagine you own some Netflix stock based on your agenda here.

Do you have access to both the 2.40:1 and 1.43:1 versions on digital? Or did they just replace the one you bought with a new version?

I checked my iTunes and it's VAR (variable aspect ratio) like the disc.

Does that answer ? ...

There is a new version for both the theatrical and extended .... but they removed the old versions.

So it's another case where digital forces a free upgrade on you whether you want it or not but physical media gives you a choice to either keep the existing version or buy the new one.

That's another win for physical media.

People also tried to watch it when it was briefly HD but from what I understand the upgrade happened quickly

Most people love the upgrade ... it's fresh !
I only own Gladiator in 4K in iTunes so far. I don't think I tried to watch Elysium online ever but I had the 4K before I bought the disc because I redeem the codes.

They could have issued a new version so that your old copy could only be found in the library and Siri would recommend you buy it over if you searched for it. One thing I think would be AWESOME is if Siri could scan that library before the store.... I think I could code that. I know my daughter could. I have requested the feature.

When my Casino Royale copy downgraded to HD I was about to host a movie night for it. I bought the UHD set to solve the problem. Good times.

I thought it was a religious belief/cult more than anything.

If there is funding involved that makes more sense. Wonder if there is incentives for the promotion of disc decline flag waving? If so, that has to be some serious dough rolling in.

Another poor counter argument.

To most of the digital crowd, it doesn't matter as we now got a free upgrade to a superior version.

This in unlikely to happen with Justice League as it's a brand new film and should not replace the theatrical cut.

Btw, this sort of 4K update is very very rare unless the Studio adds extras or performs corrections. The upgrade is done by Apple (iTunes) which is mainly HD to 4K. MoviesAnywhere has also been updated to the newer version which is a bit of a surprise.

Btw, there are few Lionsgate discs with incorrect black levels that have been fixed in streaming. No replacement discs were issued by Lionsgate. Can I stand up on top of a mountain, beat my chest and say digital FTW?
