I'm happy to report that I watched the Apostle a few days ago after it arrived with my February bundle, and - projected at 100 inches - it looked great.

The transfer is very filmlike. Grain is left intact, and it looks like a 90's film should look. Color and contrast get a nice boost from the DVD. The print is generally very clean. It's a good thing too, since the movie really captures the rustic, rural feel of the American South, and you can practically taste the salt in the bayou air once the action shifts to Louisiana.

The film is remarkable, a one of a kind Southern gothic tale. Duvall is simply spectacular, his performance so full of passion that it weaves a hypnotic spell over the course of the film. The ensemble is excellent. Walton Goggins really makes an impression in an early role.

Great job overall from Imprint on this one.
