I received a refund email from Amazon too this morning.

I watched Winners & Sinners last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the original Cantonese mono audio with English subs on and I thought the translation was top notch. The movie had me in stitches. Most enjoyable

Eureka won't lose any money - they'll have agreed a set price per unit.

To be honest I wouldn’t expect Eureka to take a hit, I think the set is well worth the asking price.

Amazon is massive and I’m sure all these refunds won’t hurt them, in fact it’s like
a spot in the ocean to them.

Would depend on who's end the glitch was...while clearly Amazon the fact it happened to a lesser extent the week previously with the Nightwing double feature suggests it could be a Eureka issue...however the standard SS pre-order of In Bruges was listed for just over £5 recently so could well be Amazon's screwy system.

So, some of you got the 12 GBP price even after ordering it for 32 GBP? What the ****. Am I the only one who paid full retail? I will probably get hit by customs too, lmao.

I got charged £7.25 in the first place, so no need for a refund, but yeah, that's a crazy price for such a set (and also £12.25 for Viy!). That said, I'm importing, and I'll have to pay quite a bit more than that in the end, so I don't feel that guilty.

This morning I got my refund like everyone else so with the promotional credit that I got out of Amazon yesterday, the end result is not only that I paid nothing for this set, Amazon actually paid me £2.49. I really am thanking my lucky stars!

Shameful behaviour. As a mod, you'd know the process is automated and follows after the fact. There was never really any doubt refunds would come and even if they argued, there was proof of the price drop. Hopefully karma returns to those who bullied call centre staff with their "entitled outrage" chats. Enjoy your ill-gotten gain.

I'd say that's pretty harsh. I obviously can't speak for the13thman, but I had no idea that the refund process was automated in situations such as this one, and I'm sure that at least some other members didn't know that either.

It is a bit harsh. I told no lies and made no misrepresentations, so nothing was ill-gotten. All I did was complain. I usually get the refund straight after delivery, which I didn't on this occasion. Amazon didn't have to offer me promotional credit but they did.

Next time I'll be more patient but all it's done is encouraged me to spend more money with Amazon, who have been losing my business to other retailers recently due to their tendency to block international customers from pre-ordering new releases.

As a regular customer you must know the pre-order price guarantee check isn't made automatically by Amazon's IT until 0:01am on the Tuesday so day after release.

This is so they can check the lowest price up to release day.

Hence Amazon would have been in their rights to refuse to discuss with you until today and then only if no automatic refund received.

How should I know that unless I've been in a similar situation before? I've made countless pre-orders on Amazon, but I've never experienced something like that. So basically, if you get charged for a pre-order early, and the price drops between that and the release date, you'll get refunded the difference? I didn't know that, I thought that you're only covered by the pre-order price guarantee up until the moment that your card gets charged. As it happens, with this I only got charged a couple of days ago, and it was already the correct lower price.

Finally got to watch My Lucky Stars in glorious HD. Absolutely fantastic and brought back so many memories. It's the international cut for me all the way. Thanks to @Irongod2112 for making that happen . I couldn't have asked for anything better to be on there.
Thanks also to everyone else involved, you're all doing fantastic work and cannot wait for what's to come.

Thanks. Even if I'd read that in detail, I forgot all about it because, like I said, I've never actually been in that situation. That's probably because I pick free shipping whenever possible - I use parcel forwarding, so anything I order won't be in my hands for weeks anyway - and that means that my pre-orders rarely dispatch early.

You're most welcome. The wait will be worth it! It's a fantastic release

£14.74 refunded. Very nice of 'em. No contact by me either.

Amazon Germany are even nicer. They refunded postage on 2 orders, for a later than expected delivery. I didn't even contact them they just emailed me with their apology and refund. I didn't even notice there was an issue with the timeframe until they mentioned it.
