Contacting Amazon customer service to enquire about a refund is hardly bullying. If Amazon needs proof of their price drop by means of a screen shot then they are either trying it on or their staff need training on how to use their system.

I contacted Amazon customer service and the agent never mentioned about the pre order guarantee, he told me the reliant department would look into the issue and if they need any more info they would contact me.

What does annoy me is the people who purchased multiple copies at £12.25 to flog them on eBay for extortionate prices.

Next time I'll be more patient but all it's done is encouraged me to spend more money with Amazon, who have been losing my business to other retailers recently due to their tendency to block international customers from pre-ordering new releases.
Only yesterday afternoon you posted:

"Despite pre-ordering in February, I was also charged the full £26.99 but when I called customer service to point out that there was a price drop before release they said I'd automatically be refunded the difference....If that refund doesn't materialise I'll be going back to demand it!"

It doesn't come off great imo as you were told you would be automatically refunded. All you had to do was wait a few days and then go back if you hadn't received a refund. Turns out it was less than day in this instance. There is a distinct lack of patience among some people.

My copy arrived today and I think I paid £5 more than I had to. When I saw the price drop I stupidly cancelled my pre-order which had a £5 promo code used on it to re-order at the £12.25 price, momentarily forgetting the price drop guarantee. Doh! You win some you lose some!

So Amazon refunded me the £14.74 when I mentioned it to them over the weekend, it turned up yesterday and bizarrely they've refunded me again today (I'm guessing they automatically did it for all orders and didn't notice they already had). So I basically got paid £2.49 to own this.

Nothing bizarre about it, it's an automated refund process for the pre-order price guarantee.

Yes, impatience is definitely one of my faults, I won't argue with that.

Scalpers are the worst thing about limited edition releases even without pricing errors.

What's bizarre about it is that when I spoke to them about the price dropping after they'd taken money from me for the full £26.99, they didn't mention the pre-order price guarantee. If they had I would have said not to do the manual refund they did.

Further to that, though, I've had to request stuff in the past when they haven't fulfilled the promise of the guarantee. Along with multiple issues I've had with them over the years, my faith in Amazon isn't particularly strong. If they'd served me better over time I probably would have just waited, but my experience obviously differs to yours.

Got my automated refund too. Always great when the system works.

This all prompted me to buy it direct from Eureka.

I missed out on the amazon misprice (I don't look for one day!), and all the talk of the limited edition nearly being sold out already got me thinking:

Would I rather have missed the bargain price on the limited edition and end up paying more than that for the standard edition, or miss the bargain price on the limited edition and end up paying more than that for the limited edition?

It was a no brainer!

For those who are in the States and have already received their set purchased from Eureka, what carrier do they use or is the overseas delivery transferred to local USPS for final delivery?

I wonder how this mistake happened. Maybe an Amazon employee thought (s)he could adjust the price for a few minutes to order it cheap, not aware of Amazon's pre-order price guarantee, thus costing Amazon thousands of GBP in losses? These quick price drops happen a lot lately (and I have missed all of them).

Good grief, these are going for a few quid on eBay now! To think they were going for just £12.25 a few days ago!

Had an automated pre-order guarantee email refund on my original order, but it was meant to arrive Sunday and I still haven’t received it. So I have also last night ordered one from Eureka directly as I really don’t want to miss out on the slipcover and booklet. I will be gutted if my Eureka one doesn’t come with the extras as I pre-ordered this from amazon day 1 it was available.

There's one copy on eBay for a used copy currently at £46+ - I don't understand when Eureka still have this in stock for £28.99 brand new and free shipping why it's going for that amount.

The image on Amazon has been updated - now showing as a standard slipless edition - plus the specs have been removed that listed the slipcover and booklet in the description.

Wow this must be the fastest selling Limited release featuring JC on BR. Probably due to the temporary price drop enabling a lot of people to purchase it.

I sold off my HKL releases of My Lucky Stars and Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars a few months ago to fund this (for some reason I never owned Winners & Sinners). There really is no turning back from this release. It really is top drawer.

In this instance it's not being scalped. The item is used like new and the starting bid was £4.99 - 30 bids later it's £49. I mean if the seller watched it and didn't like it and wants to sell it's not their fault that folks are bidding so much for it - like I said it's £28.99 from Eureka brand new, unless everyone bidding on eBay is going off Amazon prices/availability?
