Sounds like a No.

118 Mbps, 30 ms latency. Although, at the time I streamed I was using a lower quality Ethernet cable, so maybe half that download speed. Edit: No wait, I wasn't. I only started being throttled after I bought a network switch and connected my computer with a short lower quality cable, but that was long after I streamed.

So I've said Onibaba needs a release on blu. But man oh man, after seeing Human Condition get a release on blu, they need to get Rebel Samurai out again. More Samurai cinema please.

Anybody else thinking about what spine #1100 will be?

100: Beastie Boys Video Anthology
200: The Honeymoon Killers
300: The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
400: Stranger than Paradise
500: Roberto Rossellini’s War Trilogy
600: Anatomy of a Murder
700: Fantastic Mr. Fox
800: The Graduate
900: 100 Years of Olympic Films
1000: Godzilla: The Showa Era Films

Pariah is #1083, so with roughly 4-5 new releases a month probably be somewhere between the September-November range of releases.

Yeah, the Samurai Rebellion set upgrade would be great. All four films are pretty good.

I'd rather them start releasing their damn Gosha titles they have though. Hunter in the Dark is my number 1 want from Criterion and it's been streaming in HD forever by Criterion.

Would also love to see Ronin Gai finally get a Blu-ray.

Maybe 1100 will finally be Tarkovsky's Mirror, it didn't become 1001 like people thought, but it's definitely coming and the reference still works with 1100

I'm not sure what Spine 1100 will be... but...

I'll say After Hours will be Spine 1111 because according to the movie poster, the clock says 11:11.

I will say with 100% certainty though that Spine 2001 will be 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Hopefully spine #1100 will be their first 4K title.

Or one of Kurosawa's, several of which already have 4K masters. But I expect nothing 4K from Criterion. I mean, why should they bother when so many fans are still buying their more expensive Blu-ray discs over the 4K versions of the same movies available from other labels? By expecting nothing, I may eventually be pleasantly surprised.

If we are discussing spine #1100, I doubt it. Something with a new spine number on 4K would be something like Citizen Kane I would think. I think their first Kurosawa 4K will be one that already has a number, perhaps Ran or Seven Samurai.

Let's be honest, This is Spinal Tap would be perfect for #1100

Yeah, I know it has a number already, but still...

Criterion is apparently restoring Melvin Van Peebles’ The Story of a Three-Day Pass!

Of course, a certain Japanese director was born 111 years ago (to the day, in fact), so that might work...
