The BD party line here is that we don't tolerate wassling and lying about things we know to be true.

If you come in here and say that HD DVD is better...you're trolling. If you say that HD DVD is a compelte spec and that Blu-ray isn't... you're fishing. If you say that blu-ray has rot problems and costs too much....you're being dishonest.

Those type of things aren't going to be tolerated here.

No, what I'm saying is these are tightly-knit groups that do not make decisions independently without the consent of other members. Hence the name "consortium."

Don't tell me what I do and don't understand, when I'm one of the few here not blinded by one point of view.

Or... Things you have accepted as true.

I have no problem saying either format has issues. Quite honestly, I don't think either has any major flaws. The difference is that there are some in both camps that inflate their interests and features that are important to them in an effort to sway purchasing of visitors without the whole story. THAT'S dishonest.

You should accept intellectual honesty and sanity over the wild-eyed approach taken by some of the core members here. I think you know who they are. Defending a format/company without inspecting the criticism to see if there's anything that can be improved is detrimental and counter-productive.

Well, being called disingenuous is hardly a show of respect. How am I lacking in sincerity by stating that you can't correct a FUD elsewhere without corrections being attacked and the original FUD being emphasized?

I comment against FUD all the time. Both formats.

Being neutral is not being anti-Blu-ray or anti-HDM (although the effect may very well be)

HD DVD-30 is sufficient for many titles.

There, stick around and see if I'm banned.

It's not disagreement that isn't tolerated, it's pissing in the pool, it's saying things just to get a reaction

If you're here strictly for honest debate, you'll see no problems from me

We're not AVS, and we're proud of that

Honest debate is indeed all I'm after. Obviously, AVS has their own challenges and we both know that.

The issue is that responding to FUD with FUD is counter-productive. There, I've said enough.

"tightly-knit groups"? Then I stand by my statement that it appears you don't understand these consortia at all. More often they operate as companies that have their own agendas but act together when it may be in their mutual best interest -- and then often reluctantly so.

And just how many boards have you (or do you currently) sit on?

How many international deals have you personally negotiated with large, publicly traded companies?

For how many billion dollar companies have you been a founder?

I shall not, and did not, try to tell you what you do or do not understand. Read what I said and am saying: Your statements still imply to me that you don't understand how things truly work.
