I would love to see Cauldron release Pupi Avati's The House With Laughing Windows.

It is in the RTI catalogue (EX-Medusa Distribution, now Mediaset), so one could hope they'll bring some RTI films since they did release American Rickshaw, a RTI title, on Blu. I personally wish they release The Spider Labyrinth, Spetters and Lamberto Bava's Until Death, too!

I watched Crimes earlier. Solid movie, great commentaries, and decent interviews. The PQ was fine; at times, great details and colors, but don't expect a great restoration. I don't know specifics, this is all eye test, but I'd say 3.5/5 is my PQ rating. Solid package all around. Great to finally have.

I had no idea it was with the same company Cauldron was dealing with! Now you have my hopes up.

I'm hoping they put the remaining stock up for sale soon. I ordered the first batch right away, but dawdled too long on the second batch and don't want to miss out. I've never seen either of these movies before, but was not let down with American Rickshaw or Abrakadabra.

Yeah, I watched Crimes last night and I'd have to agree. I somewhat was judging a book by its cover here - the overall packaging is so slick I was expecting PQ to match and it didn't. The opening title sequence had me a bit worried, but things got better. Sometimes things -like fur coats, for instance - displayed such a great amount of detail it was crazy. But it ebbed and flowed throughout the film. I'd agree with a 3.5 for PQ on this one. It's a fun film to be sure and one I'm glad to have added to my collection.

It's not a knock against Cauldron. I'm glad you agreed, because I've been watching a lot of 4K UHD in HDR so I wasn't sure if I was over reacting.

I'm really curious about Beyond Terror, as in how's the movie. I didn't preorder it back in October and now I want to.

Yeah, it's a bit unrealistic to expect every obscure film from decades ago to look pristine and minty fresh. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how it looked and think that Cauldron is off to a fine start. I've got American Ricksaw (dig that swanky packaging!) and Beyond Terror to look forward to tonight. And bourbon. It's been a long week already.

Has the limited edition version of The Crimes of the Black Cat sold faster than American Rickshaw for Cauldron Films?

It hasn't sold out yet. Remaining stock will be available when all pre orders are shipped.

I know that there will be some remaining copies available from Diabolik once the pre-orders have been shipped. It seemed that the limited edition of American Rickshaw was available for longer than the limited edition of The Crimes of the Black Cat.

I assumed it was with Cecchi Gori, considering its dvd release in Italy. Is this catalog available for consultation, just out of curiosity? If it's now with RTI, I'd like to see if other titles previously available on, now out of print, dvd by CG have crossed over as well, seeing how Mustang has been releasing several RTI titles in Italy.

I think you're referring to the old Italian DVD release by Flamingo/General Video. Yes, Cecchi Gori distributed it, and as you know, they are still distributing various company's titles, RTI, Minerva (Raro), Surf Film, Luce, etc, in Italy.
Mustang Entertainment's been collaborating with Cecchi Gori for their DVD releases for a long time, and they recently released Spetters, which is a RTI title, on DVD, too. Also, given the DVD catalogue of Mustang Entertainment's, I think this company controls Dania Films/Medusa Films' catalogue altogether now, and in fact, they are continually re-releasing OOP Medusa DVD titles under their name.
By the way, I can't find the catalogue now, even the Variety's...

I knew Medusa's and RTI's titles were the more recurrent Mustang re-releases, but I had no idea The Scorpion with Two Tails was RTI's. I did try to look for the catalog, but I also couldn't find it...

I contacted Mediaset but got no reply. There are alot of good and obscure films on their channel, but I don’t think they have the worldwide rights.

And my guess is that CRIMES OF THE BLACK CAT was licensed from Dorado. And that it is not a restoration from original elements.

Oh man, Beyond Terror ruled. It's like a nasty, anything-goes exploitation movie about morally bankrupt creeps that slowly morphs into a dread-soaked supernatural horror movie. It just keeps going in unexpected directions. I had a blast - great find by Cauldron!

Yeah, despite there being no hero or redeeming characters, I really enjoyed it. Glad Cauldron released it, and curious to see what's in store next.

This is what I liked most about it! I'll take all the hero-free movies I can get - the nastier and more despicable the better.

Haha. I guess it depends on the movie, but I usually like a character I can relate to or root for to a certain extent, or even a tragic type of villain. This one I wanted them all to die horrible deaths.
