I'm not really into remasters, I think I'd preferred to just play the original version (or a new C&C game entirely). I can see how some people are attracted by the Special and 25th anniversary editions though, so many shinies!

The originals are very broken games. You can play the original C&C and Red Alert in the remaster. Original graphics, original soundtrack, original controls, original dumb AI from 25 yrs ago.

Unless I missed something, I don't believe they changed the AI behavior at all. They seemed just as dumb as they used to be when I played it (and wouldn't want it any other way). That's the beauty of remasters like this and Starcraft. You get to play the games that look and sound the way you remember, not how they actually were.

C&C was an obsession back in the day. My nemesis. I remember long 3-day holiday weekends of nothing but C&C, pizza, and mountain dew with my friends via LAN. I even lost a girlfriend to C&C (and X-Wing too lol).
I wonder how different it'd be to replay these all these years later now that I don't have all the time on my hands like I used to? Would that addiction still be there? Will my wife divorce me if it is? ![]() ![]() Last edited by red_5ive; 03-29-2021 at 11:07 PM. |
