Guess Legendary may have had a right to be upset with WB moving this one to HBO Max. Also shows people will return to theaters if they feel safe and believe in the product. All will be right again in 2022 for theaters.

I think WB made the right call overall for 2021. A lot of people will go out to theaters for a movie like this, that obviously should be seen on as big a screen as possible. But if someone doesn't feel safe, they won't, no matter how cool it looks. It's a win for everybody.

It currently has a better rating than Snyder cut. I wonder if that will last.

Matt Zoller Seitz going 4/4 on Roger Ebert dot com; bear in mind though he’s one of the only mainstream film critics who takes monster films warts and all, pretty seriously.

Really not bad at all IMO. The human acting does just seem to be "there" to progress the plot. There isn't really any standout performances at all but that is fine by me because it's a monster movie so the humans are expendable to me in this.

Speaking of the plot, it was pretty basic but was good enough to bring Godzilla and Kong together to fight, and that's all that was really needed IMHO. It did its job and I can't fault it for that. Does what it says on the tin.

New Yorkers are gearing up to see #GodzillaVsKong. At AMC Empire 25 in the heart of NYC, opening day WED already has all IMAX shows sold out, all Dolby Cinema shows sold out, all but 1 RealD 3D shows sold out, plus there are 21 standard format shows (2 of which are sold out).

Just signed up for HBO Max. Gonna give it a test run tonight on my PS4 and hope it all works good for Wednesday morning.

Working through a 4K rewatch of the MonsterVerse in the meantime.

Hmm your review scares me as I liked 2014 Godzilla more then any of the others, I was not a huge fan of KOTM, the stupid family plot with the wife betraying humanity kinda took me out of it.

On the other side of it made my reservation for Friday, first time at a theater for me since that shitty ass last star wars movie I think
