It wouldn't make sense to transfer the 4K disc to another packaging, and for what. If you do, what are you going to do with the original 4K UHD case, slipcover and cover artwork? You might as well keep everything as is, and get use out of it. You've already paid for it!

I've ordered mine from Amazon about a month ago, and it's being delivered today. I don't know what's going on with yours.

Watched it yesterday after not having seen it for a few years now, and cannot believe how awesome it looks in 4K. I remembered when I first watched this film. It was my father's favourite film, and he put this on for me when I was 9/10 and I remember being glued to the screen from start to finish. One of my favourite releases.

Got mine from Best Buy yesterday and sampled the disc. All I could say was "Damn!" As good as the BDs were this makes them look awful in comparison. Paramount hit a home run on this one. The total disc size after I stripped away all of the needless dubs and subs was 88.48 GBs and I think before I did that it was 92 GBs.

Agreed. I only had time to watch the first 24 minutes but I was hugely impressed with what I saw. To me this stands toe-to-toe with Spartacus in terms of 4K lushness, and ramps up expectations for what's coming from Paramount with My Fair Lady and the Indiana Jones films. I hope someone at Warners sees this and takes notes for Ben-Hur in 4K.

Thanks for the scan. I’m hoping this will help pave the way for some 3 1/2 hour classic television content in 4K on BD-100 blu-ray discs. I know going from Moses to Mr. Spock is quite a leap, but I’d love to see Star Trek TOS in 4K. It’s long overdue.

I placed a pre-order two months ago and I got the same thing saying it would arrive April 1-21. I just contacted Amazon and told them how frustrated I am with that because others have gotten their copy. I am particularly annoyed because there was a book I ordered two months prior to its release...and months after the release date I still never got it. It even went out of print and when I contacted Amazon, they helped me by paying for the higher cost of getting it from eBay (a $60 difference).
After going through multiple back and forth with their customer service this morning, their person said they would contact the shipping department and put through a request to have it advanced to shipping delivery. But then he said it should go out with two-day status. I said I have Amazon Prime and if I ordered it today, I would get it tomorrow. And that's what I did, told them to cancel the original order and I would place a new order. They gave me $5 credit for my trouble but I tell you I am fed up with Amazon pre-orders. It used to mean you would get it on the release day. Now it means your order goes into some limbo area. I also have "My Fair Lady" on pre-order but I am going to cancel my order. |

Hyperbole! much? I mean, those caps show only a minute increase in detail. I'm not saying the UHD doesn't look great in motion, with HDR, but there's no way that BD could be classed as awful - comparison or not. Let's get some perspective please.

Just watched the first hour of this. It was not a huge leap from the 2011 bluray. Maybe colors were a little more enhanced overall, and skin tones slightly more details, but nothing to spill my coffee over the screen about.
If you have the 1080p bluray you're better off saving your money |

Which I provided. I saw this on my 27" monitor from about a foot away so my perspective is valid.
