Yes he did. Gui either got confused or just wanted to share what his first Steel was.

You're so right demiscy.

Some how I read:

This also has the honor of being my very first Blu-ray SteelBook.

Instead of:

This also has the honor of being the very first Blu-ray SteelBook.

I though John Rambo was the first Steelbook released...

Kynch I got confused, I wanted to share because I though xrad shared is first Steelbook...

Cheers,
Gui.

Pans Labyrinth Blu-ray SteelBook was released on October 7, 2007.

John Rambo Blu-ray SteelBook did not get released until June 27, 2008.

Regrettably, I did not begin collecting Blu-ray SteelBooks until October 7, 2008. My very first SteelBook ordered were 10,000 BC (UK) and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (FS Canada). My very first SteelBook in hand was Iron Man (FS Canada) received on October 18, 2008. Now you know more about by SteelBook history than anyone.

Why does it have a German PCM and DTS HD track, plus I can see a collector wanting this, but to me, especially when my North American copy has a 7.1 DTS HD track anyways, I don't see much of a reason to buy.

Besides the fact that it is at least playable here and if you understand Spanish you can enjoy the movie, this one looks MUCH NICER than the standard blu-ray case the US version comes in. It is also a fairly cheap SteelBook to own now with the current price it's going for. It's a crap shoot though to get a mint one since this has been out for so long now.

I picked it up 'cos I like the film, I think I can watch it and understand what is being said, and I'm going to eventually throw in the US release into the case along with the German disc once the US Pans Labyrinth goes on sale for a price I'm willing to get it at.

I think also that the US release of Pans is the one with the weakest picture quality, and that the German one might be better in terms of pq. I know there was a thread that compared the various releases of Pans, and the US version was not as good as the other versions that are available overseas. It does suck that the german one doesn't have the 7.1 DTS HD track or English subs, but I'll be glad to have it to house both discs.

I guess I started collecting Steelbooks September 30th last year on Iron Man release date. I had the Canadian I am Legend on Blu-Ray and German T2 on HD-DVD but I wasn't collecting Steel back than. I remember wondering which version of I am Legend to buy...I had both the amaray and Steelbook in hands and was thinking about which to get.

I really thought John Rambo was the first and it was the reason it was so expensive. I know better now.

Cheers,
Gui.
