Speed by far as it has Sandra Bullock, who’s awesome. Starship Troopers, on the other hand, was single handedly ruined by the awful Denise Richards.

Paul Verhoeven actually wanted Jennifer Love Hewitt for the role of Carmen Ibanez, as did Jon Davison and his fellow producers and Edward Neumier. So did Sony’s network and studio executives.

But Jon Davison wanted the movie made and released no later than when it was. So JLove was rejected and DRich got the role instead.

Jon Davison later regretted not waiting the four years he would’ve had to wait to cast the actress that everybody involved with the movie wanted to play Carmen Ibanez. Edward Neumeier actually designed Carmen Ibanez for JLH.

Everybody involved also strongly believes that had Jennifer Love Hewitt been cast instead of Denise Richards, that the movie would’ve made ten times what it made with Mrs. Phypers being cast.

Personally, this would be Paul Verhoeven’s best movie, even over Robocop, with Mrs. Hallisay. But it was Verhoeven’s worst by far instead. And I would prefer Starship Troopers to Speed with the actress Carmen Ibanez was designed for (9-1-1, what’s your emergency

Speed. The only thing Starship Troopers had going for it was the nudity. Other than that it was lame.
