Yeah, usually. But this was beyond compressed and lower volume in Atmos. It's like HBO MAX pulled a Disney and lowered the volume. Hell, ZSJL and every other HBO MAX 4K release with DV/Atmos always looked and sounded great. This one looked great but sounded mediocre.

That's close to WW84's schedule. From Dec 25th to March 30th was 95 days, 95 from March 31st is July 4th.. so June 14th isn't 95 days but it's close. Could possibly end up being June 29th when it's officially announced in the US, which is the Tuesday before the 95 days.

yeah it seems like they mixed this at -20db or something. Lets hope they fix it for the blu-ray.

I agree. Sound was off. But I also thought it was low in ZSJL as well.

Nope, just this one. I've watched them all and this one takes the cake in terms of shitty compression and dynamic range.

The monster fights were great.
The music was good.
The "plot" was too crazy for me. They should have gone with a simpler plot to set the fights up.

However, giant monster movies are all about the monsters and this movie had some of the best giant monster action I have ever seen, and I've pretty much seen them all.

Steelbook artwork from Amazon UK. Will probably be the same for the US release.

Absolutely bonkers and I loved every minute of it. The Atmos track in Dolby Cinema was insane and the cinematography really shined in DV. The 4K disc should sound amazing and the cinematography really benefit from the HDR. Day 1 for me.

So, it wasn’t just me that thought the sound was quite low with this.

Maybe WB messed up the audio stream. Do complain so that they can look into it and fix it instead of playing the blame game on streaming.

Apex was kind of dumb, but even their intentions made sense. Far more than any of the humans in KOTM.

But yeah, we're here for Godzilla and Kong and it delivered. Though, I did think it was weird that Godzilla is so nimble now, when he wasn't in the previous 2 movies.

That's literally every movie and TV show in the last 2-3 years. Dialogue barely registers unless you turn the volume up real loud, and then music or cars or gunfire or some other sound effect kicks in and then it's way too loud. Sound engineers must have forgotten what they're doing. My oooold 2.0 soundbar leveled it out fine but I had to get a new one after like 7 years, and now everything is either too low or too loud. And it's not even 5.1, it's still 2.0.

Honestley its super helpful for mid-range tv's and almost as good as DV and it is royalty-free I dont see why studios choose to ignor this format.

A bit of UK date DD....
WW84 wasn’t available in the U.K. to rent until Jan 13. Then the retail release arrived March 22nd. Which is 10 weeks.

GvK is out today to rent in the U.K. Add on 10 weeks and the nearest Monday is, you guessed it, June 14th.

The Hong Kong fight scene was HDR turned up a few clicks!! OMG

Sound was meh....hoping for a better experience on disc. Overall I thought it was a good continuation of this new age KONG/ZILLA sandbox.
