Uh, no. David Warner is the one that is really tall, 6' 2" (1,88 m). The actor that did Shredder is 5' 8" (1,73 m).

Like I said, Shredder is really short.

Seems like Walmart Canada restocked these with the slipcover for 10 bucks in store, at least here. A bit disappointed to find out the Canadian version doesn't have the pizza disc art.
I grew up with the second movie, never had the chance to rent the first and never knew the third even existed. Maaan the 2nd movie just doesn't hold up at all. At least the 3rd has laughably bad turtle suits that keep it entertaining and a more interesting premise.

This is a pretty terrible take. The third is irredeemably bad--nothing funny or interesting about it. If you somehow still haven't seen the first, you really should. The quality of the movies steadily declines in the order that the films were released.

It's truly bizarre that you think that the 3rd one "at least" having "laughably bad turtle suits" elevates it over the 2nd. I watched all 3 in the theater as an impressionable young gun, and the third is one of the earliest examples I can remember of being a movie-loving (and Turtle-loving) kid leaving the cinema and thinking, "Huh...that kinda sucked. A lot".

It really is an awful movie, and the premise can't save atrocious execution and basement budgeting.

The first two hold up well in my opinion (especially the first). I used to prefer Secret of the Ooze when I was younger, but now I like the first one more. I can definitely understand why Secret of the Ooze isn’t seen as fondly though.

Even as a little kid, I thought the third one wasn’t good. I popped it in the other day just for the lulz to have on in the background and there were a few good jokes here and there but overall... just not good lol. As petty as it is, the horrible non-Henson-Company special effects are what kill that movie for me.

If there is one legitimately good thing about the third movie IMO, it’s that Casey Jones was in it.

I re-watched all the TMNT movies last year (including the Michael Bay reboot/adaptation), and surprisingly, I liked the 3rd one for the very first time! The thing is: I actually read the original comic book run prior to re-watching the movies, and I did get the references in III. The plot might seems silly, but it is classic TMNT comic book stuff!

As a kid I watched 3 as much as the first 2, but I went back and re-watched the trilogy around the time I was 18 and yeah, the first is the only one that holds up. Since then, it's the only one I give a whirl once every few years. Got to see it in theaters twice these last 6 months, so that was fun.

I do still listen to all the soundtracks though, even part 3's. Love that early 90's pop-techno music (whatever we're supposed to call it. I call it "Jock Jams").

You just made me go spin the OST of the first one on Youtube Music. I may be 43 but Turtle Power is so damn catchy.

First one's great. Saw it in the theater at least twice back then and I'd imagine a lot of other kids did too. TMNT was huge during the time with the show, arcade game, NES game, action figures, comic series modeled after the show and other merch. I even had a Ninja Turtles sleeping bag and most kids probably at least had a cowabunga or similar shirt. Like that the first film had somewhat of a dark tone intermixed with the comedy. I don't recall ever hearing about the original Eastman comics back then and did not know of their existence until later on.

The 3rd one looks cheap... Everything besides Casey Jones just seems off.

It's one of the worst movies of the 90s.

I doubt most kids knew of the comics (the original ones. They might've read the Archie ones). I remember people saying the first film was dark because of the success of Batman the year before, but really, the director used the original comics and inspiration. You may not have known about the comics until later on, but I will never forget when my Dad came home from work one day in 1991 when I was 7 years old and he gave me this:

I can still remember my confusion and bewilderment. I kept reading the cover over and over, just because I thought it was fake. 30 years later, I'm still hoping someday they'll make a new LIVE ACTION (no CGI BS) turtles flick with this style.

Mine copy without pizza disc art. Ugh Warner and need come with Special Edition or Collector's Edition in the future... or neither 4K UHD.

Didn't see anyone mention that the default audio track on these is just Dolby Digital.

Switch it to Dolby TrueHD for a bit better sound while we all wait for an Atmos and UHD creation of some or all of the trilogy 😀
